I think Trump thought it was for Trump’s benefit Maremia. That is the only thing he cares about.

It’s for the benefit of Israel as Iran wants them wiped off the face of the earth ( not gonna happen) but Iran pays its proxies to constantly attack them.
It’s also for the benefit of so many countries including the UK and the US as Iran has paid and encouraged so many outrageous attacks on both countries as well as many others.

Iran's "proxies" (Hezbollah, Hamas) are not well-disposed to Israel in their own right. They'd have the will to attack even if Iran couldn't aid them. (someone would). You make it sound like they're just doing it because Iran tells them to.

Trump was incredibly short sighted to attack Iran.

He caused all kinds of issues for us all and has made the Iranians angry and the new leader appears worse than the old.

Trump f****d up, big time, is too egotistical to admit it.

He’s already “let down” both Gaza and Ukraine with his empty promises of “ending these wars”.

He’s made bad situations worse and actually, it’s my opinion, that no country should have nuclear weapons or that all countries should have them.

There’s sadly far too many corrupt and awful regimes in many countries, we cannot resolve this on their behalf, look what that achieved in Afghanistan?

When will we all learn that wars such as these solve nothing.

I don't think anyone is saying it's a good idea? More the case its Iran's response to the US/Israeli illegal strike. Was that a good idea?

Agree AGAA4- The China foreign ministers just a few days ago stated Iran was its "strategic partner" no less.

Trump undermined the already fragile US-China trading relationship last year with his tariffs that saw China reduce exports to the US by 20%. China simply diversified beyond the US in response and US citizens lost out, in the short term at least, to cheap Chinese imports. US intervention in Venezuela couldn't have gone down well with China either.

Lots to discuss and how, if at all, the vast outcomes influence Trump's position regarding negotiating a peace plan with Iran i.e. what concessions he could tolerate/be persuaded to tolerate.

No it's the US that can control the Hormuz, they can stop all ships Iran allows those it chooses that cannot continue. Iran in charge if who uses the Strait is the worst outcome and cannot be allowed it would mean they control the whole Gulf States.

May 14th -15th Trump is expected to visit China.
A 'deal' might suddenly be declared.

Despite Trump's posturing it's clear that Iran have the upper hand. The US haven't won this war and have just created more problems for everyone.
There will be more terrorists not less.

It's naive to believe this war was for the benefit of Israel. It was for the benefit of Trump. He wanted the uranium in Iran. He was concerned about the dollar losing favour and the rise of the yuan as oil that was paid for in dollars is changing to yuan or euros around the gulf.
I would like to know what he has achieved by starting an illegal war. Nothing positive that's for sure.

Everyone needs bringing to heel Iran just as much as the US and Israel, any lasting deal will depend on Iran ending its extremism and support for terrorists.

Im hoping China will persuade moderation on all sides

There is plenty that 'needs doing' in our imperfect world.

It wasn’t about rescuing Iranians from the Regime tho was it?
That would have been a real bonus for the people there who hate their leaders, but the other half seem to adore them so it would have been very messy as civil war always is.
It was all about bringing Iran to heel about the enriched uranium as the thought of Iran with nuclear capabilities is too chilling to contemplate.

Both the US and Isreal possess nuclear weapons. With Trump and Netanyahu as the respective leaders that is also very chilling to contemplate.

Both Trump and Netanyahu need bringing to hell for a wide variety of reasons. But I would not advocate waging an illegal war to do so.....
