Trump has been thinking about sending troops into Iran to collect the uranium. Maybe this was the goal all along. It would make even more money for him.
I doubt Iran would stand by and allow this. It would cost many lives. Hopefully someone with a brain that's older than a three year old will stop him.

Why should we be surprised by anything Trump does?
He ripped up the rule book before he was elected and is carrying on making it up as he goes along.
He sold his soul to Satan.

Reports on Facebook, yes, I know, about the disgusting food being given to the USA crew members in the Middle East just now.
It is being contrasted with the money spent by Hegseth on luxuries like lobster for his own consumption.
An army, and navy, marches on its stomach.
Not great publicity.

So now Trump is back saying basically he will rip Iran to shreds again (todays statement) since his own blockage of the Straits, (and Iran saying oh well, we will mostly open them ^but did fire on 2 ships)

Has just resulted in another stand off so he's got himself in a right state this time its mainly now him blocking the Straits.

What a bloody (literally) farce.

If I were his advisor I would be telling him to put a very large sock in it at the moment, the US negotiators must be tearing their hair out with him. He’s behaving like a five year old going ner ner ner ner at the boy next door.

Its vague, a catch up on I player doesn't actually help much but

It subsequently seems Iran has also shut down the Straits again since I last read too so both of them are at it.

It appears to be no leeway for negotiation, because although talk proposed, Trump throwing out these repeated threats.

Is he still moving troops out there? I’m beginning to lose the will to live over this nonsense - except they are killing people in the process of their lunacy.

It’s beyond farcical now. How did these people get to run the world? I sometimes think I’m perhaps laying in an hospital bed having a fever dream 🤯

Considering the many rumours that are circulating that the entire Trump family have been making money from the ups and downs and more ups of the oil markets, it's in Trumps interest to keep this conflict dragging on.

Outright financial greed trumps peace every time. (Yes, every pun intended.)

This is what it has always been about. This family speaks only one language and that is money. I can't wait for them to go.

And the only one who will be surprised will be Trump.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 18-Apr-26 12:52:31

So Iran - reaction to Trump - closed the Straits.

What a complete mess!

I simply hold fast on my opinions of Trump and Netanyahu, the only thing I can possibly say after all this mess they’ve caused between is sigh …..

Must check out the details, but I think there may be moves in the US to examine the legality of some of the personal 'trade deals' made by Jerad Kushner in the Middle East. Along the lines of 'conflict of interest'.

Down right corruption!

The populist hard right are very keen on money aren’t they?

Look at Orban and Farage, both tainted with corruption.

I note that Israel has announced that it has no intention of returning the land it has gained from Lebanon. Its land grab continues as it has done over the decades. Then it wonders why people keep hitting back.

Its up on I player now:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cqxdg17yr2wt

Iran is calling Trumps bluff:

"Iran's foreign minister says the Strait of Hormuz is "completely open" to commercial ships for the remainder of the ceasefire.

There is other news from the region and Lebanon there too:
I thought it was maybe timely to open a new thread, for it "hasn't all gone away"!

(thinks - he started the whole thing off in the first place, Netanyahu takes advantage and is now holding land with hundreds of thousands of displaced people, no sign at all of regime change in Iran ...😡

"THANK YOU!" Donald Trump posts on Truth Social -

moments later, he says the US naval blockade of Iranian ports will continue until a peace deal is agreed
