Trump & latest NATO threat 😱

Trump never fails to annoy me, but the headline today absolutely enrages me, his ignorance, his stupidity, his arrogance!

What he evens means by the below is beyond me!!!!

“ “US prepares to punish Nato states for Iran rift
President Trump has warned that the UK may face a ‘reckoning’ after an audit of the war effort.”

“Britain has been told by the Trump administration that it will be audited along with other Nato members to decide which should be punished for disappointing the president during the war in Iran, The Times understands.
The UK is also facing pressure along with Nato allies to step up military support to secure the Strait of Hormuz, and there will be consequences for those countries that fail to assist.”

He certainly doesn’t think of his party and those who voted for him, only himself

Actually I watched and listened to the Professor form beginning to end- I did indeed find it thought provoking.

Isn't it about time NATO tells Trump what it really thinks? Why should NATO and the world keep sucking up to this impetious spoilt child of a man? They are fed up of his insults and threats. This President, along with Israel started an illegal war and expects all to fall in line with the decision he and Netanyahu took without consulting them. I feel sorry for the US soldiers he is sending to an unnecessary war. Why don't he send Barron or his two other sons?

Gave up on this after a minute. Rambling, disjointed, lacking focus.

For any one that’s open minded this is very long but very interesting. Could have a lot of the answers to what Trump is trying to achieve. I’m not saying it’s good or bad just thought provoking

Thank you for this, I won’t be watching, not because I do NOT have an open mind, I do, however I simply cannot watch anything more which even slightly puts a good slant on anything Trump has done in either of his terms as POTUS.

In his first term he overturned almost everything Obama put in place for Mr/Mrs Normal/Average.

In this current term he has insulted almost every nation’s leaders, directly, outrightly insulted the Pope, attempted to take over Greenland and Canada, started and continued an illegal war on Iran, pretended to have worked on stopping the fighting in both Gaza and Ukraine, openly supported his own ICE staff murdering people in the open streets, pardoned violent prisoners, been found guilty of various felons…. and on and on it goes.

I simply cannot find ANYTHING positive or productive to say about him and I just don’t wish to listen to anyone, anywhere, at any time, praising him or explaining his objectives.

Sorry, that’s simply how I feel about him!

My thoughts too Geordiegirl
Who on earth would give Trump the code to the nuclear weapons armoury ?

Not I!

Maremia Sun 12-Apr-26 16:23:25

Hope there is a 'fail safe' procedure in the USA, that would intervene if someone decides it was time to press the button.

It’s ok for this madman to have nuclear weapons though!

What infuriated me was seeing an interview with Mark Rutte, Secretary State of NATO, saying after his 'behind closed doors' meeting with Trump, that he understood where he was coming from!!! angry.

Doesn't Rutte know that NATO members act to defend a fellow member when they're attacked, not to join in an illegal war started by a member of NATO?

He should have explained to Trump in words of no more than two syllables what being a member of NATO means.

As far as I'm concerned Trump and his cronies can take their threats and put them where the sun doesn't shine.

Exactly ! Spain shall not give them 1 Euro Cent for that illegal war.

Agree with Smileless2012 ..

Are you also aware that The Lebanese Coast & The Gaza Coast have Trump Hotel Resorts planned ?

And that is why the Israeli government continues to bomb these two places ..

Smileless2012 Sat 11-Apr-26 20:04:55

I agree with you too Fallingstar, they are a deterant. Does anyone really believe Trump would have attacked Iran if Iran had a nuclear weapon? I don't.

I think you’re quite wrong on that subject Fallingstar

You mean you disagree, I actually agree with fallingstar.

Lots of countries have developed nuclear weapons, if one goes off, we all go off, we are all dead, or a living dead or dreadfully deformed.

Trump was entirely wrong with his assault on Iran.

AGAA4 Sat 11-Apr-26 19:21:53

I agree with Fallingstar. Iran know that if they nuked Israel the US and others would respond. This could mean that China and Russia could become involved.
Nukes flying everywhere would be the end.

Oreo Sat 11-Apr-26 19:11:38

The mullahs that rule Iran don’t see death for themselves as normal people do, using nuclear weapons against a country they hate would absolutely be something they would do.

I don't believe Iran would ever have stopped its nuclear bomb project whatever it agreed to in a limitation treaty. The regime's threats to wipe Israel off the Earth, their murderous attitude to their own citizens and their sponsorship of terrorism in the world show the theocratic, corrupt regime is untrustworthy. I'm not at all sure any peace plan will deliver safety.

I agree

Grantanow nukes are a deterrent not a weapon of choice. Israel has nukes and has regularly said it wants to wipe Iran off the face of the Earth, but it won’t use Nukes. Northern Korea has them and won’t use them either.
If Iran had nukes the present war would not have taken place.
India and Pakistan have a long history of conflict but India won’t hit Pakistan because it has nukes.
The regime is horrible and capable of many acts of brutality against its is people but like other nations if it had nukes it wouldn’t use them. Any nation that uses nukes knows it will be curtains for their own country. So even the maddest/craziest dictators will not use them. And I include Trump in that.

Iranian/Persian culture is one of the oldest cultures on earth - dating back at least 7000 years. It is thought that this region saw the first time humans became farmers as apposed to Hunter gatherers, which dates back 12000 years.

The Persians are very proud of their cultural history and with good reason.

So I’m afraid it shows a degree of ignorance on Trumps part - well more than a degree😄😄

IMHO, Trump appears to be completely ignorant about 95% of everything, and simply rides roughshod over the other 5% because he can

He’s seems to have a level of emotional intelligence of a 4 year old, the tantrums of a toddler and hasn’t even learned the rudimentary just because we can, doesn’t mean we should He does have support of some of his own citizens, mainly, it appears, from the very rich, the ultra powerful, the extreme religious christian originations and the very very gullible/uneducated redneck types. There are still many millions of good, hard working Americans who loathe and detest (and no doubt fear) their own POTUS.

Christian Nationalism/Evangelism is another form of religious extremism akin to Islamist extremism, inasmuch as it is all about violence, intolerance, and hatred. It doesn’t even have a nodding acquaintance with mainstream Christianity or Islam and is, as the Pope has made clear, abhorred by the faithful.

👍👏👏👏👏

Rutte calls Trump daddy??
If so that is rather sick.

I thought that cannot be true!

But it is and the explanation by Rutte in this link is equally sickening, as is the photograph. The man is not fit for the job of NATO Secretary General, he is a sycophant.
