I wasn’t watching PMQT but my partner was. He said Starmer was answering the question when the Speaker interrupted him. He has a habit of throwing his weight around unfairly; I’ve complained twice to the Speakers office about that, once when he was downright rude to Caroline Lucas.

Starmer is at his happiest when attending any gatherings of foreign leaders, what he isn’t any good at is being PM at home.

Starmer kept us out of a war no one wanted over here. I'm not a fan of his government, but he's done the right thing by keeping us out of what would be a costly and unpopular war.

I am with Starmer all the way. He is behaving like a statesman and steering clear of all the rhetoric. Just beavering away to try and inject some sanity. Good for him.

but you have said you owls vote for Reform, and Farage, when the UK was asked, would have joined the US in the war. Is that your stand on the war? It is what is needed at the moment. there is too much hate and rage washing around. A spot of logic applied to plans to move forward, delivered calmly and without hysteria, with everyone heard and the position, opinions and strategy summed up as in a courtroom.

I would say that the person co-hosting a summit meeting about de-escalating the results of a war SHOULD be someone who has not been not been in the forefront all along. The majority of the comment on Facebook has been praise for Starmer's calm logic in the chaos of the last few days/weeks.

Trump has declared the Strait of Hormuz 'permanently open' after secret talks with Xi Jinping, claiming the Chinese leader had agreed to stop arming Iran.

This might be the start of a real resolution to the Iran question. It now needs pressure by China on Iran to stop the game of drone attacks on Oil /Gas Tankers in the Straits.

If that can be achieved we are on course for a real solution to this problem.
At last we can see a solution if the crazy Mullahs in Tehran want peace.

It is not over yet, but pressure from President Trump is making progress. Europe and Starmer don't want this to happen, because they are forming a Coalition directed at the USA and Nato itself. They want more time to throw dirt at the President. They want him humiliated.

Do they know what they are doing? They will be tested over the next few weeks.
