There is hope and oil prices plunge it seems Trumps invasion attack plans are on hold if Iran opens Hormuz, we can hope.

To absolutely no one’s surprise whatsoever.
The peace talks have failed.

World condemnation has forced Netanyahu to seek talks with the Lebanese government, whilst continuing to kill thousands of people.
What a farce. He is following the same pattern as Gaza.
Israel constantly bemoans the fact that they are in a region surrounded by “enemies” whose aim is to rid themselves of Israel.
Perhaps ceasing to grab land from the rightful owners since 1947 might help in bringing peace and security? The Lebanese government is incapable of controlling
Hezbollah, Netenyahu wants them to police the terrorists. Lebanon was once a prosperous country now brought to its knees by extremism sponsored by IranIran is a pariah state and has gradually expanded its hateful influence around the region.
Really? Apart from Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, who has Iran influenced?
David, Israel is perfectly capable of defending itself against Iranian terrorists. Israel has nuclear weapons, an "Iron Dome" and Mossad. It doesn't need the UK.
It wouldn't be 'we' as we have no influence over Israel. They have plenty of defence but shouldn't be using the weapons they have to wipe out other nations.
Not all in Iran are terrorists as the many thousands in Gaza weren't either.
It's hard to believe that anyone thinks that killing thousands of children is right to protect Israel.
This war will create far more terrorists than have been killed. It has endangered Israel even more and Jews everywhere.

Netanyahu got away with completely decimating Gaza so he will try to do the same to Iran and any others he opposes.
It's time that Trump realised that supporting Israel in their killing sprees is causing harm to himself and the US. It was supposed to be America first wasn't it. If support is cut back, as has been mentioned in the US, then Netanyahu won't have the means to carry on with endless wars.
So we should leave Israel to defend itself against the extremists in Iran.
Maybe that is the answer, then we will find out soon enough if Israel is willing to use its nuclear weapons on Iran, they are already a pariah state in many eyes.

Iran has been run by religious zealots for nearly 50 years, they haven't taken over the ME and IMO won't.
In your opinion.

Iran hadn't had the means to take over until now, they have had to resort to terrorism, guerrilla warfare too attack those it hates. Now that it has longer range missiles and drones it can attack Israel directly and effectively close off the Gulf completely, now they have that power they will use it if allowed.
As for democratic power bringing change, that went well in January, 35,000 killed by security forces. In one month half the number of that have died in Gaza by their own government. Foolishly Trump thought killing the leaders would bring change, it hasn't, all it's done is prove to the extremists they can hold us to ransome. Proved that cheap home produced drones can defeat the most sophisticated weapons that the US has,
We will see what the future holds but I don't see Iran backing down and will keep attacking Israel directly.
It has Wyllow3. When civilian deaths are high as a result of countries being invaded, it increases people’s outrage, wherever in the world they are, at the actions of the perceived enemies of their country/religion. They will seek revenge, and acts of terrorism will increase - some state initiated, but also many not directly.
Hasn't that been the case for some time?
iirc - willing to be corrected - most of the more recent cases - out of major conflict areas - have been radicalised individuals often with a troubled past as well.

Israel’s reprisals will result in more radicalisation, and targeted attacks will dramatically increase I believe Oreo. You can minimise the difference if you wish.
Attacks and radicalization has been promoted by Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and ISIS have all been funded and supplied by Iran.
With Iran supporting the destruction of Israel there will never be peace, Trump has precipitated the time for decision -
Is Iran going to be allowed to take over the entire region ?because if they are allowed the control the Gulf thats exactly what will happen.
We are not dealing with a normal government they are religious zealots that believe their style if Islam should rule all and every death is a martyr.
You’ve missed my point too David49. I’m talking about splinter groups in different countries around the world. They aren’t necessarily acting on behalf of, or funded by a specific regime, they claim allegiance to Islam, but often act independently. I think that will be the future.

The October 7th slaughter explains Israel's fight to survive.
There is never going to be peace in Israel when terrorist groups backed by Iran, are committed to destroying Israel.
2 nations is not an answer because the Arabs and Iran want it all and the Jews driven out, with the current Iran war it may well escalate to an all out attack on Israel.Israel wants it all too!
Israel like Turkey set out to be a secular state but Arabs kept attacking it so gradually became apartheid with roughly equal numbers on both sides. Extremist Jewish political parties made possible by PR have made it much worse
Turkey with many pressure factions had many years of unrest even military rule, currently much quieter, even the Kurds have settled for now.
I think you should delve a bit more into the history of setting up the state of Israel in the early 20th century.

Sorry, I've duplicated this.
Iran hasn't taken over the whole region - and is very far from doing so. Some Muslim countries are much closer diplomatically/politically to Israel than they have ever been - or, at least, they were heading in that direction.
Iran itself was heading towards some kind of change. The people themselves were beginning to rebel.
I don't expect Israel will ever be a close associate of the surrounding countries and will always have to maintain a strong border, but there was little imminent danger of being wiped out, as some seem to be suggesting.
Attacking Iran and Lebanon has achieved nothing, apart from entrenching hatred and ensuring, as Casdon wrote, that Jews (even in the diaspora) will be targets for people who can't separate the Israeli government and Jews.

I didn't say an opinion shared by many does automatically make it true or correct Oreo; I just said my opinion is shared by many, because it is.
I'm sorry to say I believe that too Casdon.

I don’t miss your point Casdon but the fact is that it’s already a bad situation for Jews and in particular for Israelis who have had daily missiles fired at them for donkeys years.Who need panic rooms installed.
