There was never going to be a Quick Victory - a 'lightning strike' that would result in immediate regime disintegration.
It was delusional to think/believe that 'the people' would undertake a mass uprising to topple their government. With what - flippin' banners on sticks? Thousands had already been slaughtered for taking to the streets, they were going to do this - with bombs raining down on them?
This war was started by two angry old men who have few years left to live and who must remain in power to avoid being dragged through the Courts. They will do absolutely anything to avoid that.
The regime and the nuclear threat is a problem, not just for the USA and Israel, but all of us. Dealing with this requires cool, intelligent, educated heads with input from those military heads with decades of experience in conflict in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan' and scholars who understand the mindset and capabilities of those they plan to engage in war with. And allies - allies who are treated with at least some respect and not as a collective of derided men and women to be used as cannon-fodder if 'Epic Fury' doesn't go as these two Marvel-Comic characters planned.
Trump marches to the beat of his own drum, and it's so bloody loud that he can't, and doesn't want to, hear anything other than it. He's been elevated by those surrounding him, protecting themselves and their positions by refusing to say anything that might go against his grain; pawing over him reverently with prayers and presents. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't genuinely believe that he's on a par with God.
