Sickening antisemitic attack.

Voluntary Jewish ambulances, run by a Jewish charity, have been set alight in a car park in Golders Green North London.

How much more hate can be thrown at one group of people in our country?

^Let’s not blame other groups, we have no evidence as yet.^

Disgusting far right people have sadly been around for decades in our country, it’s just that parties like Reform give them credence and a voice.

Antisemitism and other prejudices are not exclusive to the far right, the far left and even the 'middle' can be just as bad.

Well said.

I am a Londoner, I remember a bomb outside the Israeli Embassy injuring many, then further car bombs outside Jewish organisations in Finchley and Brent Cross, then random attacks on individual Jewish places and Jewish people.

I think it was the 90s when antisemitism reached an all time high, it was palpably felt by many. Reform certainly wasn't around for another 20 years after that.

It’s been going on for quite a while.
Thank you for your post which reminds everyone 👍🏻

Absolutely disgusting and vile.

I send my best wishes to the entire Jewish Community.

I truly hope they find the perpetrators of this vile and cowardly crime and I believe them to be disgusting excuses for human beings.

I’ll be honest I’m pretty sick of the racial prejudice both online and in real life, directed at any cohort or communities living in the UK.

We don’t “own” this country, no one does!

sixandahalf Mon 23-Mar-26 12:05:22

Before there is a pile on, nobody but nobody should be attacked or hurt in any way.

sixandahalf Mon 23-Mar-26 12:03:07

No prizes for guessing why

I have a few ideas?

Rosie51 Mon 23-Mar-26 12:01:29

I hadn't refreshed the page and you'd already made the point MartavTaurus

Honestly …I think it was just some Ned who thought why should anyone have private ambulances when my mum or gran or child has to wait hours for one.
Probably didn,t even know they were for the Jewish community.
The hatred is for people who have things the rest of the community don’t have access to .Its been posh cars in our area ,set on fire almost daily

paddyann54 why do you always attempt to dismiss obvious antisemitism? Any account of the incident mentions they were parked next to the synagogue and are clearly marked. Surely you read about it before making your 'insightful' post?

Anniebach Mon 23-Mar-26 11:54:37

Quote MartavTaurus thank you

Maremia Mon 23-Mar-26 11:47:01

Near a synagogue? There will be good CCTV coverage.

I don't think you understand how Jewish private ambulances work in London, Paddyann54. They are identifiable by their signage, so of course everyone knows they were for the Jewish community. They were also parked at the Jewish synagogue in Golders Green.

The rise of Reform? He may be disguising it now, but Farage was definitely antisemitic in his youth.

The far right as in Farage and Yaxley Lennon and his cronies are usually antisemitic as well as Islamophobic, those who see Lennon as a champion of ordinary indigenous people because he seems to oppose Muslims need to look a bit deeper. Many who follow him have Nazi tattoos and are Holocaust deniers.

Vile example of anti-Jewish terrorism deserving long sentences. It's appalling that this Nazi-like activity is happening in Britain.

I'm sorry to say that mindless attacks on emergency services vehicles and staff happen all over UK .

Farage may well have been antisemitic at school and maybe in his head still is, many people who wouldn’t say anything out loud often are.
But no, I don’t blame him or Reform for all the antisemitism in the UK.

Doodledog Mon 23-Mar-26 11:02:08

No, nothing whatsoever to do with Farage or the right wing.

Really? Don't you think that a party led by someone who used to tell schoolfriends that Hitler was right, and made hissing gas sounds in the ears of Jewish boys might just possibly be contributing to antisemitism?

Racial or religious prejudice is divisive, and legitimising it in any shape or form is almost inevitably going to lead to attacks on minorities, as there will always be people who have a need to 'other' anyone who is different from themselves.

What horrific news to wake up to. That anyone should target a voluntary organisation that works for the good of all is beyond belief.

There’s a Gofundme page for donations.

We live in London and such attacks are imho not prevalent here, Jews have always felt safer living in such a diverse and tolerant environment, obviously not anymore, which is very sad.

Seems nothing has been learned from the past. I am horrified by this attack and hope the Jewish community is supported in dealing with this.

The whole country should crowd fund to replace the lost vehicles and equipment.

butterandjam Mon 23-Mar-26 09:48:47

I was horrified by this news, but also gobsmacked that this local community Ambulance service even existed.... so went to have a look. It's run by trained volunteers, slightly similar to how Mountain Rescue, or RNLI volunteers operate in mountain and coastal areas ?

<https://hatzolanw.org/>

How shameful that any such force for good should be targetted

Oreo Mon 23-Mar-26 09:48:08

There never was a golden age where antisemitism didn’t exist.
It’s got worse in the UK in the last ten years or so.No prizes for guessing why.
Yes, setting ambulances on fire is a new low.
