Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down........

According to a yahoo news, America had two state of the art Mine Sweepers in the Middle East which were moved (don't know when) and have turned up in Malaysia, 1000's of miles away.

So, why is Trump asking his allies to supply mine sweepers potentially putting the live of their armed forces at risk, when he had two of America's vessels in the area which have conveniently been redeployed?

No, it's what Trump won't want and he's currently trapped himself into something that he's struggling to get out of. I've just listened to the Trip US podcast, interesting insight into what is going on in Washington ATM, lots of people around Trump are distancing themselves and want the US out of this war but Hegseth et al are keen to keep going. Trump seems to be stuck in the middle.

I know that Israel has a great many but they've been using so many in different places in the past few years. They surely can't replenish them as fast as they use them; there must ba a possibility of them running low.

Sadly Joe Kent has demonstrated his lack of understanding towards Israel - Israel did not cause the war with Syria. He is showing his feelings and blaming Israel for the death of his wife, Shannon when she was working in Syria. Sounds confused?

NYT reporting the same. I think that it is generally accepted now - in fact it was suggested after Netanyahu’s last visit to the WH - that Trump was pushed into the Iran war.

I suspect that Miller an unelected advisor, was also instrumental in sending USA troops to fight an illegal war, and get killed.

Ronib where have you read that? There's nothing in his letter to Trump that I read that suggested anything of the sort. Below are what the BBC report said was in the letter.

Kent alleged that "high-ranking Israeli officials" and influential US journalists had sowed "misinformation" that caused Trump to undermine his "America First" platform.
"This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States," the letter continued. "This was a lie."

As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times… who lost his beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel….

I wonder how much damage this resignation will do to Trump's standing in America and the world; I'm hoping it will do plenty.

Ronib I've been reading what was put in the BBC and the Washington Post, neither included the words " in a war manufactured by Israel," but having read the complete letter I apologise. However, I disagree that the letter is confused, he's pretty straightforward in what he says and it's certainly true that Israel and Syria have effectively been at war since 1948 even if Israel has claimed neutrality for long periods.

It’s possible that as US Head of Counter terrorism, a US special forces and CIA veteran, he knows more about it than ronib does. In any case, it’s his opinion. I highly doubt he is confused.

Sometimes you have to laugh. I just picked this up from CNN:

Ronib Kent is saying exactly what many are saying ie that Netanyahu drew Trump into this war. I'm not anti Israel, I'm not anti semitic either but I am very much against the Israeli government with Netanyahu at it's head. Netanyahu has said they will “will strike hard at the terror regime and create conditions that will allow the brave Iranian people to cast off the yoke of this murderous regime.” whilst privately acknowledging that Iranians will get "massacred" if they come out on the streets. The cold blooded cruelty of Netanyahu fills me with horror. What sort of person is so duplicitous and uncaring of the lives of innocent people?
