Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down........

Iran still have grip on the Strait of Hormuz and the Houthis on the red sea now.
The war won't be over quickly and shortages will start to hit home especially by next winter.
Trump is not making much progress and Americans are not happy with more and more turning against him.

NYT: "Even with the war in Iran dominating the national conversation, opposition to Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown and Immigration and Customs Enforcement remained a rallying cry on Saturday.

The sprawling, flagship “No Kings” protest was held in Minnesota, where two U.S. citizens were killed by federal agents this winter as part of unrest over the Trump administration’s immigration operation there. (The administration last month ended its surge of federal agents in Minnesota, responding to mounting public criticism.)

Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Senator Bernie Sanders, the progressive Vermont independent, spoke at the protest, which was held at the State Capitol building in St. Paul. Bruce Springsteen sang a song about the two citizens who died.

“This is still America,” Mr. Springsteen said. “And this reactionary nightmare and these invasions of American cities will not stand.”

In Minnesota, there were also loud chants of “end this war” and plenty of signs objecting to the conflict.

Dana R. Fisher, a professor at American University who studies civic engagement and surveyed protesters in Washington, said the share who described war and peace as their main motivator jumped drastically on Saturday compared with previous protests. But it was comparable to the share who cited concern about the administration’s handling of immigration, she said."

I agree with practically all the above, and more besides.

Great to see the Facebook posts about those rallies.
It was said that for the first time in a decade, Trump did not attend the big GOP rally.

Economic fallout is looming already Qatar is in trouble because Iran put its LNG gas plant out of action and will take 3 yrs to repair. Qatar is heavily invested in UK property, we will feel the pressure.

Could be wrong but I’m sure I read somewhere that America has never sent troops anywhere and not deployed them. I can’t quite get my head around the fact that this is actually happening. Especially as Gaza is still being bombed but seems to have been forgotten about. Has one man ever before completely destabilised the whole world? And then still takes every weekend off to play golf?

The article made reference to the terrain of Iran. This had a large bearing on Iran holding back Iraq for 8 years in the 1980 invasion.
If that terrain held back Iraq the us ground troops havnt got a chance in hell.

There has been a good and sane reason why for 50 years, the world has held back from interfering in the Iranian internal politics issue.

It simply took an ignorant and dim President to break that consensus.

Because Iran wasn't a threat to neighboring countries 50 yrs ago Iraq had a war 40 yrs ago which was a stalemate. Then WMD destabilized the whole region it's only in the last 10 yrs that Iran has caused serious problems for others with the development of drones, larger missiles and nuclear development.

It is estimated the Qatar has £100 billion invested in property, if that has to be sold UK values will fall sharply

Incursion which is clearly not working , and because of Israeli intransigence and Trump’s blind ignorance is going to result in projected warfare, resulting in death, hardship and misery for the region, and at best economic hardship for the world. Russia is now beginning to supply Iran with arms as well as intelligence and the USA is sending thousands of troops to the area. To many this looks like a build up to a more general war.

Iran wasn't much of a problem until the US and UK succeeded in replacing the democratically elected government with the Shah which in turn led to the overthrow of the Shah and the creation of the present regime. It's a pity Trump doesn't know his history.

If that was aimed at me, I reply, why are you influenced by pro Iran propaganda, which Im sure you deny as I do.

I think Trump was foolhardy attacking Iran, now he is there he will try to win somehow, BUT I don't think he can stop the drone attacks, they are cheap and easy to build in backyard factories if needed. Russia is now promising to send drones to Iran and probably missiles too the will have to come in by land and will be difficult to stop.

The US could easily destroy Irans oil terminals but Iran has shown they could destroy the gulf states oil infrastructure, which is a stalemate and no good outcome. Im yet to see how Trump can win, maybe Im wrong and Iran will cave in, no sign of that yet.

To add insult to injury, Trump, by removing sanctions on both Russian and Iranian oil is effectively funding the war on all sides. Money into Iran and Russia via oil, money to fund Israel's military and a billion dollars a day to fund the US military, which will increase hugely if the war escalates further, which it looks set to do.
