It’s a much better tactic to totally confuse the enemy and Trump has achieved this. Being honest and respectful doesn’t wash in a war situation.

Two days ago Trump said he wasn't going to send troops into Iran, Now we hear he is planning to do so.

He's so erratic that it hardly seems worth worrying about until he does it.

I agree with this too.

I read a couple of days ago, that if ships were to go into the Strait, they are in danger from air, surface and under water.

I am still of the opinion they shouldnt go.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General Dan Caine, has warned that strikes against Iran could be risky, potentially drawing the US into a prolonged conflict, US media report.

Caine has reportedly cautioned that a military action could have repercussions across the region, potentially including retaliatory strikes by Iranian proxies or a larger conflict that would require more US forces.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump described the reports as "fake news".
It was not fake news, Dan Caine expressed his views and concerns as he should. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff he knows exactly what he is talking about, unlike the POTUS.

"He has not spoken of not doing Iran, or even the fake limited strikes that I have been reading about," Trump added. "He knows only one thing, how to win, and, if he is told to do so, will be leading the pack."

They didn't land at Calais, it isn't in Normandy. The D Day landings were on the Normandy coast and were done by British, US and allied troops, from 13 countries altogether.

Perhaps ronib meant the Siege of Calais and Evacuation of Dunkirk, 1940?

Or perhaps it's all designed to confuse us in which case it's working.

Also there were no satellites capable of tracking military movements with great accuracy.

Trump has surrounded himself with yes men, anyone who presents something that Trump doesn't like is kicked into touch and ignored. Trump's planning for this war was poor and he is panicking.

IMO it's generous to say ^Tump's planning for this war was poor^; it was practically non existent.

Trump isn't subtle enough for deception and equating a war fought 80 years ago to the war in Iran is rather futile.

As Trump has no military experience and has ignored advice from those that do I doubt there are any tactics so nothing to give away.
Or maybe the tactic is to do what he feels like on the day.

I'm sure Allira and many of us know some history here and there. Operation Fortitude 1944- the invention of an entirely fake army group in England with the film industry creating dummy tanks and decoy aircraft that fooled the Nazis. This tactic helped deceive the Nazis think that the invasion was going to happen in Pas-de-Calais whilst it planned the D day landings in Normandy. Even after the Normandy landings the German High Command continued to believe they were nothing but a diversion and that a second bigger invasion was still to come. Clever, strategic, intentionally planned, well thought through, well executed and successful. Allies collaborated and successfully pulled together to defeat Hitler.

ronib seems to believe Trump has been intentionally deceptive, clever, strategic with subtle stealth to achieve a clear goal and is deceiving the Iranians in some way to execute and carry out well thought out strategic plans to achieve a specific goal. 🤔 🤷‍♀️ really?!

Trump's many mixed messages re Iran war on Truth Social and to the media have no subtly or emotional intelligence whatsoever. He has warned he will 'massively blow up" Iran's South Pars gas field (the largest in the world) if Tehran continues to retaliate against energy infrastructure in the Middle East. He's berated the Nato alliance as a 'one way street'. He's torn into the US media accusing and criticising reporters as "sick and demented people" over their coverage of the Iran war amid low public support for the conflict. He has escalated claims of 'treason' and made threats left right and centre to his allies. He has helped Putin by lifting sanctions on Russian oil ( handing Putin a timely financial boost at a stage Russian war coffers were running low) thus undermining Ukraine. defensive

Trump is not capable of subtlety to a degree to successfully confuse Iran or anyone else. He is too bombastic, chaotic, lacks self control and lacks strategic ability. The world, including Iran, is well aware of Trump's communication style and his day to day changes of position and factor this in. Trump has alienated his allies, his electorate and has backed himself into a corner.

The only person Trump is seriously deceiving is himself.

Trump hasn’t alienated Israel who is a partner with the USA in the war. Israel has announced intended increases in attacks on Iran. And so it continues. Of course if Trump steps back, it doesn’t mean Israel will.
Iran continues to kill its own dissidents.
