I found your remark entirely dismissive of the grooming and rape that those children suffered. A comment clearly intended to silence in an aggressive way.

But perhaps it is a situation where people do have to choose which of the groups involved they will support or defend.

Which is why they will try to silence others.

I do not dismiss the abuse or any abuse. I do not defend those who carried it out.

Whoa,back up. Never in my life have I or would I dismiss victims of abuse. Let's get that straight.

I see abuse which was covered up at all sorts of levels, in some cases by the very people who should have been protecting the vctims.

I also see a rise in anti Muslim rhetoric and sneering at the idea that it might be necessary to implement the recommendations in the Protecting What Matters document.

Tolerating religions is okay but religions should stand on their own merits, if they have any merits. which I doubt.

If people want to gather together to have moral codes recited to them, to celebrate the existence of supernatural beings, and to do rituals, let them do so.

Thanks Wyllow is an oft repeated statement that Islam isn’t a race. Good to clear it up.

Islam is not a race.

No it isn’t. But the ‘othering’ of all Muslims and dehumanising of them is the same as with racism, they are treated as one homogenous group with no variations and referred to with racist tropes, so the description of racism is appropriate, as it is when referring to Jewish people in a similar way.

The definition of racism is actually racial and ethnic groups,
so it includes socially defined groups of people who identify with each other based on shared ancestry, social experience, culture, language, religion, etc.

This is why for example antisemitism is racist too as referred to in the quote.

I really don’t know enough about this, and hate anyone being called a Tsar, surely that only refers to the royal heads of Russia prior to the revolution. Why can’t we use plain English and clarify what these titles mean.

I would like to know what these Tsars actually do and what, if any, effect they have in improving relations.
