To say that this video, from wherever or whenever it originates, is not racist is to deny the pernicious nature of racist imagery. We have seen black footballers have bananas thrown at them for several years. There are white players on the pitch at the same time - as there are white politicians in this video - but it is obvious the bananas are not aimed them. To suggest otherwise would be naive.

I don’t believe anyone who denies the video’s racism truly doesn’t see it. I don’t believe it one bit. It’s just the same old silly game of attempting to normalise racism by gaslighting those who call it out. Trump doesn’t do anything to hide his racism, so anyone defending him or downplaying this is exposing themselves.

DT is still amazingly popular in the US and he still has three years to run, he won’t be able to stand for a third time.
As for a mini Trump here, if that means Farage ( Boris used to be called that) then Labour will have to up its game massively for it not to happen.As will the Conservatives.

His popularity is hovering around 40%.

The wrongness came from Trump putting it up on his own SM site. It’s an insulting short vid of Democrat politicians that had been doing the rounds for a few months.
It’s yet another childish and poor judgement call from the President.

As I said earlier.

White supremacy. Trump believes in this and white supremists are racist.
They believe themselves to be superior to people of colour.

I would think that because of this the video he sent out was racist.
