.....about NATO soldiers in Afghanistan on his 'Truth Social'.

But too late. What has been said cannot be unsaid and what has been heard cannot be unheard.

jocork Mon 26-Jan-26 17:45:26

Interesting that he demanded an apology from the BBC when he claimed to be misrepresented by them, but he is unlikely to apologise to all the families of soldiers who were killed or maimed in Afghanistan. He really does think he is beyond criticism!
ike others have said on this thread, he is one of the vilest men on the planet.!

Those tests recently, that he 'aced', are to measure cognitive decline.

Trump has clearly got dementia too, so maybe anybody who hadn’t, who made it through the presidential election process would be a better alternative than either of them Barbadosbelle.

You say clearly, but really has he? We don’t know. All that he does and says is much in line with how he’s always been.
He’s what? 79? Any slip ups are probably just a bit of natural age and maybe tiredness. It’s too old for the demanding, physically and mentally role of POTUS. Doesn’t mean he has dementia.

There is exactly the same speculation about him from doctors etc. as there was about Biden, it’s a mirror image. He rambles for hours off the point, is unable to stick to any kind of script, regularly needs assistance, and gets very confused - he even confused Greenland and Iceland last week. These are not just faux pas, he has lost his filter, which is another clear sign of dementia. Do you really think it is just tiredness?

Formerly I worked as a mediator. One depressing fact I learned is, in general in life bullying works, bullies do gain advantage. Trump found this out at a early age and has lived his life getting away with it. Now he is a very dangerous person without the normal internal controls we learn - and now with unbounded power.

At least the Democratics had the decency to remove Biden from the contest.

And, the Epstein Files are not forgotten.

.

Ditto Biden's wife and family when he quite clearly had dementia.

But I guess those on the sidelines don't want to give up their lifestyle and the limelight it brings.

Just how can his wife and family stand by silently supporting him.
They are as culpable as him by their silence.
He is sick and should be treated as such.

Power and money

Very unfair to his wife and children, they can’t answer for him.

Unfair to the children, perhaps, but not to the wife!

If one is so unfortunate as to find out one is married to a compulsive liar, it is ones duty to try to stop him from damaging others and his own image by telling lies.

Not unfair to most of his children and in-laws because they are in positions of power and influence due to nepotism.

Jockytaff Mon 26-Jan-26 14:47:55

Ziplock, yes he is but sadly he is one of many in the White House

All of this is keeping the Epstein files off the front page, only 2% of heavily redacted files have been released so far, when will the rest be released? Trump is a master of the media, it is his greatest achievement and because he has absolutely zero empathy for anyone, all of this anger towards him will roll off him as "fuss about nothing." He hasn't apologised, he's just made a different statement that contradicts what he said before, classic Trump!

Indeed. The draft dodger is a master at manipulating and distracting.

We know what Trump is.
77 million people with dark black unkind hearts voted for trump……Twice. They may not vote for him or his kind again but the damage is done and we now know what his and those peoples hearts look like.

Maremia Mon 26-Jan-26 07:42:51

He has made almost one billion dollars for himself and his Family since his return.
There would be a riot if they tried to rein him in.
They would have to love him enough, to make the effort.

I heard on BBC Newscast that the King sent a message to Trump in a diplomatic bag

Casdon Sun 25-Jan-26 21:01:49

The King made sure Trump knew of his concerns, but didn’t send him a personal direct message.

‘A source told The Sun King Charles reached out through back channels to speak to Trump, adding: ‘It was made very clear that the King’s concern over the hurt had been caused by the comments, whether inadvertent or not.’’

Well, who would have thought it.. almost an apology..

As near as we will get, apparently Starmer phoned him to tell him of our national anger at the remarks.

I believe King Charles sent Trump a message expressing concern over his comments and Trump’s message was a response to that.

seadragon Sun 25-Jan-26 19:00:43

"Live!" Blooming spell check!

seadragon Sun 25-Jan-26 18:58:10

That was not an apology from Mr Trump. It looks like a secretary either copied a message from the King which was apparently delivered in a Diplomatic bag, or posted similar sentiments expressed by Mr Starmer. There was no apology. Mr Trump should have apologised personally leave on air, but even that is insufficient.

You’re right Easybee it is reported that a private message from King Charles brought about Trump’s backtracking. I find this far more likely than him taking the slightest bit of notice of Starmer.

Heaven forbid that anyone would give the PM credit for anything he does…sad

Casdon Sun 25-Jan-26 12:54:44

I can’t see that it has been reported that the King personally contacted Trump. What I’ve seen is that he made his concern about Trump’s remarks known, and that was fed back to Trump, who then tried to retract what he had said, for UK only.

Last thing he wants is for the King's visit to be cancelled

Quite.

It has been suggested that King Charles contacted Trump. If it is true I would think he would take more notice of him than of Starmer.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's true and that Trump realised the visit from King Charles was likely to be cancelled. He does love a Roysl!
