I thought we could do with a bit of light relief
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage breached MPs' rules 17 times by failing to register financial interests totalling £384,000 within the 28-day limit, the parliamentary commissioner for standards has ruled.
But apparently it's OK because he said it was completely accidental (you just can't get the staff these days) and he was really really sorry...
Will we forgive him. like the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards has, or will we have a long, long thread lambasting him, like we do for Labour politicians who make inadvertent errors?

(Sorry, but I'm getting a bit bored by Trump)
Nigel Farage…? Breaking rules…?
Surely not! 😂
In a letter to the watchdog, Mr Farage said was 'sincerely sorry,' blaming the error on the sheer number of well-paid outside jobs he does
Goodness me, and sits as an MP too? He must be Superman.
But, aw bless, a little oversight like this could happen to anyone, surely? 🤔
The most problematic payments, the ones he took the longest to declare are the ones he receives from Zachary Freeman’s company Imperial Independent Media for speaking engagements in the US.
If you want to know more, read this frightening Byline Times article from November 2025:
bylinetimes.com/2025/11/24/nigel-farages-project-2029-the-pro-trump-lobbyist-pushing-his-agenda-into-the-uk/
Just a short extract. I urge you to read the whole piece:
… Farage’s benefactor is a pro-Trump political lobbyist embedded in the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 ecosystem – the US conservative plan to dismantle climate policy, rights for women and ethnic minorities, and democratic safeguards. He also has ties to evangelical groups in the US with a history of anti-LGBTQ and anti-abortion activism – and appears to be working actively with Farage to bring this Project 2025-style ideology to Britain.
When will people wake up to what Farage is about?

Wait a minute. Wasn't Angela Raynor hounded out of office recently?
Why should Farage be let off the hook?
Because he's not in Government, not holding a Ministerial role so can't be hounded out of an office he doesn't hold.
But he needs to be held to account.
LadyGracie, MPs are not " all lining their pockets". My MP has no other source of income, nor has the MP of the neighbouring constituency.
Both are busy doing the job for which they are paid.
He has a long history of financial "accidents" doesn't he. He was doing these things when he was an MEP as well. In fact I think that the European parlament docked his pay because of financial mismanagement.
Like the UK parliament - Farage had one of the lowest attendance levels as an MEP. He doesn't fulfil constituency duties in Clacton as he declared it too "dangerous" yet has no problems hanging out in MAGA circles in the US
He forgot to declare a £450,000 "donation" from Aaron Banks - the Brexiteer with some murky financial dealings
At the moment Farage is happy to stoke up dissent as a protest party - but what are Reform's actual policies apart from anti-immigration? He seems very vague. For example Farage has always been anti- NHS and wanting a US style system with private insurance - will this be Reform's policy?
He knows exactly what he's done and I don't believe it's an error. He's a tax cheat as well as a racist. He's the first to slate the opposition for breaking the rules. I just can't believe what he's been allowed to get away with. It does beg the question whose palm he's been greasing to get away with it?
He'll turn it to his advantage and say he's breaking the rules cos the establishment needs to change and he's the one to do it.
Loathesome man all round
Overlooking this kind of declaration seems to be quite frequent and across the Commons, maybe because it's delegated to junior office staff. Not the same as failing to declare tax liabilities to HMRC of course.
He’s like Teflon man, nothing seems to stick to him and he gets away with it. He is too much of a Trump and Putin supporter and has no other policy apart from immigration. At their party conference he made headlines with all the things they would do in their first month in government and then quietly backtracked a couple weeks later with the phrase “when finances allow’ and when legislation gets passed. Well, any party can say that.

It’s not common for the same MP to do the same thing wrong seventeen times though, I think that’s the real issue. If you make a mistake, don’t keep on doing the same thing.
Obviously Farage is as trustworthy as Trump!

Maybe start by listing all the other Party leaders and itemising why they are all so wonderful when compared to MrF Farage???
.
Just wondering if the extra F was a Freudian slip?
Vile man.
Why do people support Farage?
He is a racist. Is that one of the reasons, for some of his supporters?

No thanks. Nothing wonderful about Mr F? Farage.

Oh dear, no where else to go so throw abuse at reform voters.
Racism, an overused term by left leaning voters to abuse people they do not know. He said, she said. This is all that occurs nowadays, no actual proof of anything. Listen to Zia Yusef about this.

If people hadn’t voted to leave the EU after being persuaded by Farage to do so we’d still be able to use the Dublin agreement and send people back to other countries.

It was not successful MayBee70. More were coming here than being returned.

No we wouldnt.
Farage not racist? Isn't making numerous anti-semitic comments being racist? Has the definition changed?
He lied about making the comments.
Then he said he didn't mean to offend when he said them.
Will prefer to listen to the school mates that Farage abused, thanks.

It's his modus operandi. He says or does something utterly wrong, then. when challenged, says he didn't really mean to say or do it and he's really, really sorry. And gets away with it...
He's like a spoilt toddler...
