Sad to read of this just now.
I do wonder how Meghan will respond. I suppose it’s a case of too little too late now.

Can it be that TM recalling his daughters use of the media thought it the best option?

sundowngirl Thu 11-Dec-25 18:05:37

Meghan would love the press being there. The dutiful daughter visiting her sick estranged father. She usually arranges for press to attend when she visits after catastrophic events like the Los Angeles wild fires. She and Harry were labelled ‘disaster tourists”

Casdon Thu 11-Dec-25 18:05:40

Not if they have a father, brother, and sister who would all sell them down the river for money they couldn’t.

Anniebach Thu 11-Dec-25 18:10:12

They are doing what Megan did to her in-laws ,Megan avoiding cameras ? No way

LemonJam Thu 11-Dec-25 18:14:39

Meghan would be walking into an ambush if she visited the hospital with sitting DM reporter there- camera bulbs flashing right left and centre. All set up by TM with siblings in the background, all willing to financially gain and undermine M. A nightmare any sane person would wish to avoid and she's avoided it so far....

Casdon Thu 11-Dec-25 18:16:20

She will avoid the cameras on this. Her family want her back in the fold as their meal ticket. Any meeting would be a photo opportunity, the children whose lives she has fought hard to keep private, included. I’m not a fan of Meghan, but I am on her side on this. I would stay away if I were her.

FaceTime? Better than nothing and an upgrade from a bluddy email.

Megan avoiding cameras!

I’m not a fan of any of the people involved in this awful ongoing disaster.
The idea of putting two small children through an over emotional, hyped up hospital visit to a man they’ve never met is appalling.
Given the history, there’s not a snow ball in hells hope that TM won’t continue to involve his chosen media. Given that publications approach to Meghan and her husband, there’s is absolutely no way in which they’ll be portrayed in anything but a horribly negative way

I hope Meghan and Harry keep out of this circus

LemonJam Thu 11-Dec-25 18:55:42

FT? TM doesn't sound like an electronic gadget man- he doesn't even use emails according to DM. FaceTime- others can see it and hear it- including DM reporter sitting right by his bed! So could be recorded- could be another ambush TM sells to DM. Doesn't sound sensible to me whilst TM is still so very engaged with DM......

Anniebach Thu 11-Dec-25 18:59:36

Megan’s family want her as a meal ticket ? As Megan sees the royal family as a meal ticket

eazybee Thu 11-Dec-25 19:00:49

Well, I was thinking : what would be good for Thomas Markle, who is certainly ill.
Meghan could certainly arrive a private visit if she chose.

Casdon Thu 11-Dec-25 19:02:25

On that we must agree to differ eazybee. I think a private visit would be completely unachievable.

LemonJam Thu 11-Dec-25 19:03:05

Agree with your post Iam64. TM has chosen his media circus- best to stay out of it.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 11-Dec-25 19:05:21

LemonJam Thomas Markle DOES indeed use email. His ‘old’ one (never used apparently in 5 years but never deactivated - probably kept, knowing it’s the only one Meghan would know) was mothballed.

He moved on. Set himself a new email going forward. But as I said, tellingly kept the old one. Hopeful.

And FaceTime would work. In a room, on his own. Pre-arranged with Meghan.

“Where there’s a will there’s a way”. These old sayings stand the test of time because they resonate.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 11-Dec-25 19:08:08

I don’t see it has to be a circus. She’s wealthy. A way can be found for a one-to-one between a daughter and her father. Of course it can. Let’s not be naive here.

Casdon Thu 11-Dec-25 19:13:29

Sorry, it’s you being naive FriedGreenTomatoes2. There is no code of decency applied by these people. Thomas Markle junior allegedly even told the press about his father’s illness before he told his own children. They will sell Meghan down the river given a chink in her armour.

Anniebach Thu 11-Dec-25 19:16:25

What differences, Oprah, Tom Bradby, Netflix, to a newspaper ?

BlessedArt Thu 11-Dec-25 19:18:13

Casdon

The Daily Mail apparently have a reporter posted by his bed, so there has never been any possibility of Meghan making contact privately.

Hopefully this is just more awful gossip and nothing more. Can’t imagine being in a hospital bed with my leg amputated next to a disreputable media entity, still entertaining attention grabs associated with my own child. As a parent I find this unbelievable.

theworriedwell Thu 11-Dec-25 19:20:57

Maybe he's short of money and the DM is picking up the bill?

BlessedArt Thu 11-Dec-25 19:23:24

I’d sooner starve. But again, I want to believe a parent couldn’t stoop this low.

I don’t think so. See the article I posted yesterday.

LemonJam Thu 11-Dec-25 22:52:12

Factually the DM reporter is there- see Casdons's Sky news link and the DM articles. It would be much better if not there and just gossip but the reporter is directly feeding back to DM as TM requested. BlessedArt- agree with you- unbelievable a parent would do that....TM is accountable for his decisions as are we all...

Well, I think having gangrene might be worse than starving, although gangrene might be a quicker way to die.
Amputation might be the only way to prevent that.
