The BBC. Bias is one thing. Lies and manipulation of facts entirely different.

The concerns were aired by a whistleblower, they cover a range of issues from Trump, to gender, to the war in Gaza, it is just that the Trump story has received most attention.

Has anyone found out if the disputed content was produced by an in-house BBC team or a commissioned independent company?

Interesting though that so many accept the lies and manipulation of the truth by Trump as just Trump being Trump. I've listened to Leavitt, the white house press secretary tell the world bare faced lies without a single challenge. Why, because Trump bans the press who challenge him from the White House! He is silencing criticism and oversight which is a cornerstone of democracy. Despite some lapses recently I'd still say that the BBC is less biased than most media sources and the outrage about this latest event proof that we still hold it to account unlike most other news sources.

Yes Maremia it does wipe out the position of trust the BBC purportedly held, as being impartial and honest and telling the truth.
What shocks me more is that so many people on here seem to condone the deliberate telling of lies, the of altering of recordings to make an even better story, and posit the belief that Trump is so bad telling a lie about him won't make any difference.

The concern is that the people fabricating the lies are those in a position of trust, and they have abused it.

I think you need to read the report about the BBC before commenting.
The BBC used to be renowned for true, fair and ethical reporting.

Yes, what is reported should reflect reality in every form and format of MSM.
Not just the BBC.
Yes, the BBC is the original focus, but if Posters wish to expand the discussion, expecting a condemnation of all lying, fake news etc, not just the BBC, then that is a common acceptable practice on GN threads.

Totally regardless of what the manipulation was.

I admit I don’t actually know what the spliced sentence was but I think it’s important that what’s reported should be as accurate as possible and that the BBC should a trusted news source.

People died that day. And Trump has let the perpetrators out of prison. So, to be honest, I don’t think anyone should defend him over this. He could have stopped it happening and he didn’t. Nothing about his character or anything he has done since makes me think he didn’t want it to happen.

That’s just what I was going to say. News stories often have bits spliced together to make use of the time available. Trump’s words encouraged the violence. He then pardoned all the perpetrators when he became President.
