I posted this conversation between the Green co-leader of the New Zealand Green Party Chlöe Swarbrick MP and Gary Stevenson. It might give a bit more structure to the views of the Greens for anyone interested.

Making a difference on ‘green’ initiatives doesn’t put them on the ‘left/right’ axis though. How are they supposed to ‘take over’ the far left?

I think the point is that they differ wherever you are. Our local green councillors are great.

They are not a coherent force. I think their greatest strength is at local level - if they are moderates - they can make a lot of difference as regards local green initiatives and keeping them firmly on the agenda.

But their weakness is the national lack of coherent purposes.

I'm not a fan of ZP, because of his stance on women's v trans rights, and previously I have found the Greens to be without a cohesive vision, so I can't imagine voting for them. I don't know that I would have voted for Your Party either though - I didn't see enough about them to make any kind of judgement.

Would they be replacing the hard left, through. Might they actually be part of a coalition with the current centre-left, which might also include the Lib Dems?

Probably not. The Greens might benefit from some disillusioned voters, but they are not structured to replace a hard-left party.

I think that the Liberals will pick up many of the votes if that happens. 🤞

They keep changing leaders like they change their clothes.

The Greens are in coalition with Labour locally and want to build hundreds of houses and solar farms on environmentally important land.

Has anyone ever seen how people arrive at Green Gatherings? In cars, camper vans, some old and belching fumes.

I would rather not vote at all than vote for them, they are hypocrites.

The Greens have always had a a very radical and weird tail. With Zack Polanski's election as leader, the Green tail is now wagging the Green dog.

I have considered voting for them in the passt. Now i will avoid them like the plague.

Are you "Your Party"? It seems to suggest they could lose out.

I looked at my ballot paper once and thought, I think I have voted for every Party on it, at one time or another.
Then realised I had not voted for the Greens.
I am not Green.
