Men are refusing medical aid from female doctors.

I didn’t hear Woman’s Hour, just told that today there was someone on saying that the Afghan men were not pulling out women and obviously female children from the rubble as they are not allowed to touch them.

Male doctors are not allowed to treat them either.

As much as I hate the Taliban's treatment of people, and especially of women, if no other country helped, those people will have even more misery to bear.

However, as we support the Red Cross anyway, I'm hoping that they do manage to get through and that the Taliban doesn't obstruct them in any way.

If I thought the aid would go to those who need it, I would contribute to an appeal. However, when the Taliban jails and tortures elderly British charity workers in Afghanistan, I doubt any money would ever reach those in need.

We contribute regularly to the Red Cross, if anyone can get through, I am sure they will.

As tragic as these natural disasters are, I would not give the Taliban a brass farthing. A dreadful regime with their treatment of women beyond belief.
Little of that money will go to help any girls and women.
I watched BBC News last night and the lady who is the South Asian correspondent stood amongst a crowd of all men to give her summary. I don't know how she was feeling but I felt intimidated just watching her from the safety of my sofa.

It's difficult isn't it? We send money because it seems the only thing we can do, but I am also praying for the suffering to stop. Life is just so unbearably difficult at times...

The Taliban has asked for help.

I am torn to be honest, I deplore the Taliban and everything they stand for.

I feel for the people caught up in yet another natural disaster, and I know it is not their fault.

Maybe any aid given should come with guarantees from the Taliban to ensure the women have access to education and a better life.

The Afghanis have had so much to deal with.
And also a major landslide following heavy rain which has killed 1000 being reported in Sudan.

International aid agencies are hugely stretched just now. My direct debits will continue but it seems so little to do.

I had an email from the British Red Cross almost as soon as the earthquake was announced, reporting the problems you mention and those that are arising and asking for donations.
The Red Crescent is helping there already.
It’s a dreadful situation.
