Worst PM in living history. Broke all election promises, has upset 90% of people including farmers, elderly, students, people who use electricity gas petrol, EV owners, private school kids etc etc the list goes on. Biggest liar ever - at least Boris didn't tax everyone while promising to reduce prices.

Reeves budget was a disaster because it damaged the private sector substantially, and picked out certain groups for particularly harsh punishment - ie farmers, small businesses, private schools and pensioners. It was an utterly pointless attack because the public sector will waste the money.

I doubt whether there is any way back for Labour. I suspect they are finished as a political force, but we will all have to brace ourselves for the next 4 years when Britain will undoubtedly become poorer, and Kier Starmer will preach to us incessantly from his pulpit. (He does like the sound of his own voice when he’s lecturing us - he just doesn’t like being questioned - one can sense his discomfort).

Although I didn’t vote Labour, I truly did hope for a fresh input of ideas and galvanising the electorate. This won’t happen now. I fear his image is irrevocably tarnished.

You clearly didn’t vote Labour FGT.
No one could solve all the problems left by the previous government in such a short time. Have faith.

I didn’t vote for this Government, but it doesn’t mean that I want/ed them to fail.

If this Labour Government fails to deliver on its pre election promises, the electorate will lose confidence as will investors, then the U.K. will fail.

According to a poster on here, this government has ‘upset 90% of the electorate’. Not sure where that figure is from, but I know better than to ask for evidence to support spurious claims made on GN.

This government has 4+ years yet. If the electorate aren’t happy at the next election, they will show that in the ballot box. That’s democracy.

Of course, the electorate may well be happy in 4+ years. We’ll see!

We will see of course, only a few months in to this new government but many of us who voted for them (and those who didn’t ) can see flaws emerging. There’s certainly loads of rhetoric around and promises that just about everything will be fixed but little else.
No government in the last 30 years have been able to modify the NHS it’s like some huge jurassic beast lumbering along and nobody ever fixes social care. The two go hand in hand.
Tinkering with the deckchairs on the Titanic and incurring the wrath of the passengers doesn’t cut it.
I will wait and see what they do by a years time to have a real conversation about it.

They weren't. They had been asking for much more.

Junior doctors in England wanted a 35% pay rise to make up for 15 years of below-inflation pay awards. They got a 22.3% pay rise over two years

Have you done a nationwide poll? My Labour friends and colleagues range from disappointed to downright disgruntled.
There’s time to improve but they’ll really have to do much better.
My neighbourhood pages (it’s a poor area generally) say of the government ‘All the gear-no idea’.

They are all as bad and long winded as each other. Cameron spat his dummy when the Brexit vote went in the complete opposite of what he wanted. Liz? Less said the better. Mouse has still not informed us who she/he was addressing and what that is.

No point in applauding unless we know to what he/she refers.

The problem is our voting system. After the Tory self-centred pantomime hanging on after losing all credibility and now Labour elected by a minority subjecting us to whatever policies they like, faith in our democracy is in danger.

There's no point in a lot of the thread, with all the "if this happens" or "if that happens" really, is there?
As fgt says, we just have to brace ourselves.
