Of course he should resign, his excuse is as weak as he is. It just makes me wonder what else has been "covered up" and how many other children have been abused as a result. I don't know how some are able to sleep at night, surely any decent person would have wanted to know what was going on with Smythe not just ignored it on the basis of "I didn't think it was that serious". He's supposed to be the spiritual leader of the Church of England, words fail me!
