This is probably stating the obvious, so apologies if so, but there will be a huge amount of work, both on policy development and amended implementation, going on behind the scenes, that most of us will never even be aware of. I remember reeling slightly at just how much change (and work) there was in the immediate aftermath of Labour’s 1997 victory (my first change of government in a directly affected work environment).
