Why is it mean to try and sort out the welfare state? There are genuine people who deserve taxpayers help but there are far too many who donât intend working for a living. We require legal immigration due to not having enough of our own people willing to do minimum wage jobs but they can get top ups from universal credit if they are not earning enough so letâs try and stop people having a free life. Itâs NOT unfair for a government (and I hope Labour would agree) to try and stop wasting taxpayers money
Out of those claiming benefits, at least 45% are in low paid jobs, a further percentage are too ill or disabled to work, then we have those born with severe learning diffs, then we those temporarily out of work, finally, the very smallest percentage made up from those âfiddlingâ the system and those willing to accept a very substandard of living in return for doing nothing. Like benefit fraud, it really is a small percentage of people, even though people and the media and even certain govts would have you believe otherwise. Like the awful televised âbenefit streetâ, this certainly did not represent most people on welfare benefits.
