Allsorts- the Tories haven't produced their manifesto either so I don't know what their plans are, maybe you can tell me?
Starmer came from a working class background and then trained to be a lawyer, so he had help from the system to get where he is, he is not 'self-made,' whatever that means.
Sunak likewise had working parents who the system helped out to enable him to attend a privileged school and marry well. How is that equally 'self-made?'
Laws are overturned all the time, you just don't hear about it. So there would be nothing un-democratic about over-turning Brexit if it has been part of the manifesto.
How can you force school leavers into doing anything? We're not a Fascist state, yet?
Are you suggesting a return to schemes like YOP which merely provided 'work' for young people for pocket money?
The National Service idea is not in itself a bad thing, but Sunak's idea has been plucked from the air with no thought, planning or consideration of the consequences- a bit like Brexit really.
