I would guess that most of the hostages are dead, and the ones left alive, if any, now seem of very little importance on the world stage including on here where only one or two seem to have concern for them. A cease fire must include immediate return of ALL.hostages, dead or alive, but of course that won't happen, so not much hope for a cease fire. S.A needs to take a long hard look at itself and question its record on human rights? Abysmal come to mind.

The issue is that this request by the ICC is based on what has already happened, not on what may happen in the future. I hope that there is a ceasefire and release of the hostages but it won't change anything with regard to this. We will have to wait to see if the request is granted. I have no question that it will be granted for the arrest of the three Hamas terrorists but IMO Netanyahu and Gallant are potentially more questionable, however I doubt that KK has been extremely diligent in ensuring there is evidence for the request.

Which amounts to almost 3x the numbers in a quarter of the time.
All deaths and injuries to civilians are unacceptable but the rate of killing and destruction in Gaza far exceeds that in Ukraine.
More will die. There is a report from a returned doctor about how the injured are not recovering, malnutrition means they cannot build new tissue and die.

This isn't about Corbyn. It's a request for a warrant for the arrest of three head members of Hamas and two members of the Israeli government for war crimes by an International highly respected organisation which has been signed up to by 124 countries including our own. The charges against Netanyahu and Gallant are different to those cited for the members of Hamas and are not equivalent.

I too applaud Karim Khan for taking this step & believe the reports from NGOs, israeli whistle blowers and video evidence of war crimes in Gaza. I too find the undercurrents of this thread disturbing.A lot of the civilican deaths are children and yet posters seem not to find that concerning, because they are palestinian children. Palestinian babies are not born terrorists.

The doctor I remember annie was a Dr Victoria Rose a British surgeon. Around about April sometime she gave an interview.

Antisemitism is growing worldwide. South Africa have absolutely no room to talk with their poor record on human rights. They should fix their own house before criticising others.

Disbelieving what doctors say about malnutrition and death in Gaza seems a difficult thing to do. We see film and interviews on our tv sets night after night that confirm what the doctors and aid workers are saying.
Channel 4 news has been excellent in challenging statements from the Israeli spokespeople as well as those talking about the devastation being caused by Israeli actions

That cannot be true Annie. The poor little baby would have died of shock.
This scepticism does not mean that any of us don’t have compassion for these poor children, caught up in war. Children in Gaza, Israel, Ukraine, Yemen, and all the other countries where wars rage but no one ever mentions. All the children caught up in wars deserve our compassion.

I haven’t read that statement *Annie *but Dr Rose in her interview Is very clear about her experience. Have a read you’ll get it online.

Certainly not true Maddy, i so agree all children caught up in
wars deserve our compassion.

What is distressing for me is I truly believe the children from
Gaza have been used by Hamas and anti semites from the start
of the war. 9 babies on a large mattress in a hospital, babies being rushed from ambulances, numbers killed released within
a few hours, is this needed ? do people need to be told little
ones die in wars ?

A well known journalist said the following- ‘Isreal have weapons of war which only kill children’

Never mention of the hostages as people, young girls who when captured by Hamas were videotaped with Hamas killers
declaring they would rape them, can these young girls still be
alive ?

I posted of the children who had been taken from their cribs and raped, only to be told how many have died in Gaza, each death is a death too many
