Who will the soldiers be keeping 'security" on the ground? More young IDF people?

Will the international community still keep funding arms to Israel?

Who is going to feed, house and clothe Palestinians and promote rebuilding the infrastructure so they can earn a living?

How will the Israeli peoples feel about a permanent living with war situation?

I suppose I've made it clear I don't see a good future for any or the parties in a long term military occupation by Israel.

Someone, probably Israel has got to provide future security for Gaza, someone has got to have the power to stop terrorist groups taking over as Hamas has.

If that is not done in 20 yrs time we will see a repeat of this war.

There is a difference between a situation where Hamas has set up a military base as opposed to where some may hide. I was shocked by the carnage at the United Nations School, which IDF claims was the latter.

Using the term "martyr" is like saying "gone to heaven". It's a way of honouring a death nothing to do with terrorism. If a gunman enters my house,threatens me and my family with death if I say anything. Does that give the army the right to drop a bomb on my house and kill us all? I don't think it does and would see myself as a victim of violence from both the gunman and the army but others would think it was perfectly acceptable. Maybe someone can explain why Hamas base their headquarters in Hospitals and Schools if it is not to deliberately cause casualties.

Yes, they do, but there are differences on the resolution of that. Clearly the huge numbers marching in the streets disagree with how the current Israeli regime is handling it.

And it is actually Israel that refuses to comply with the UN resolution to restore land they took by invasion. What some seem to be saying is that it is OK for one group of people to invade territory, take land from another group and expect the original occupiers to just comply with their rule. I thought that sort of thinking had gone with the British Empire.
No amount of oppression and suffering permits people to impose the same suffering on others.

Well Gaza had autonomy and defined borders but used that to indoctrinate the population to kill all Israelis, expecting them to change easily is not realistic.

Those who believe all Palestinians are members of Hamas might believe that but those who believe Palestinians are also victims of Hamas won't. I believe Israeli Jews and Palestinians both deserve protection and to be able to live in peace and tbh I think that's what most think.

In the end that is the most humane civilised way to proceed and the only one that will work.

Give both communities, defined areas and statehood with sovereignty to decide their own destiny. This needs to happen for Israel (who has no officially defined borders it has ever recognised) and for Palestine who are in the same position.

I think it's also important to recognise that the reason Israel does not have defined borders is because right from it's inception, the intention was to make the whole of Palestine into Israel. It is a very sad fact but true that the people who lived there prior to the formation of Israel were never going to be given their own state unless Israel changed it's plan.
