Gillian Keegan: I’ll stop saying trans women are women Education Secretary tells Telegraph she has ‘learnt a huge amount more about this complex and challenging subject’ since 2020.
Whilst it's frustrating that people fell for the nonsense, I think it's really important to 'welcome' those who have changed their mind. Otherwise there was no point in all the work that people have put in.
I agree with Galaxy. They will face enough wailing from the TRAs without getting it from biological realists too.
I was very pleased to hear about GK seeing the light. I can't pretend I didn't roll my eyes about the fact that she didn't see this all along, but every step in the right direction is a step towards fairness for women.
True I suppose. I’m a bit more cynical. I think she just realised in election year that she’d been backing the wrong horse. But as you say it’s still good to hear.

Agreed! As the Tories cannot fight the impending election on economic grounds or by standing as a party representing traditional moral values 😀 they will fight on gender and what are seen by some as "woke" issues.
My chum is a GP Practice manager. Apparently you should see the amount of documentation they have been sent, what and how to address this issue. Apparently it's a minefield keeping up to date with the frequent changes, they can't afford to get it wrong.
Perhaps she will show some concern over the teachers who have been sacked for refusing to use incorrect pronouns, as the Education Authority offered no advice and no support.
It amazes me that some people have believed the transactivists' assertion that a transwoman is a woman. Changing gender is possible. Changing sex is not.
I agree with Galaxy too. While it's tempting to criticise their late arrival to reality, people must be accepted at face value when they decide they got it wrong. I don't like the "rubbing their noses in it" attitudes of some. Just because 'we' didn't fall for the dogma is no reason not to welcome those finally waking up.
