Nearly 1 million children faced destitution in the UK in 2022..

We have 5.2% known to be homeless in Australia. It seems there are more these days, especially since Covid. They count the ‘couch surfers’ as homeless. 3.8 million sounds very high, wondering where they get their figures? It would be very noticeable if it is true.

Destitution is more than that it means that you do not have the means to ensure, warmth, food or the means to keep yourself clean. Your health outcome will be very poor leading to poor mental health, poor physical health, social isolation and poor behaviour.

It is now being recognised that food banks are becoming the modern equivalent of workhouses. And now we have a new category of deprivation which means that children are sleeping on the floor because their parents do not have the means to provide them with a bed.

..so this is the day the Prime Minister celebrates one year in office by scrapping the cap on bankers' bonuses!
The Joseph Rowntree foundation has found 3.8 m people in the UK are facing destitution. This figure is up 61% in one year and has doubled in the last five years. Destitution is defined as having very low income or having to go without basic supplies.
When is this government going to turn away from their banker friends and face the tragedy their constituents are facing?
