I have given up on the Guardian after having read it since my father got it delivered when I was a child. I had it delivered myself for decades, and then subscribed to the online version, but cancelled it because of their antifeminist stance over trans issues.

The Mail has always been unashamedly Tory and 'little Britain' in its approach - wasn't the joke that it was 'aimed at the wives of the people who think they run the country' or something?

I don't have a problem with the existence of partisan media, but would prefer to have media studies as a core subject at school so that everyone is well aware of who stands for what and how that influences content. At least if we know what we are reading and who is behind it we can filter the 'facts' through that lens.

Oh I hate Jeremy Vine. And why is Owen Jones rolled out on all those discussion shows, he is no more representative than Farage.

When you have to, shall we say, misrepresent the truth in that way, you do show how empty your arguments are. You seem to belong to a part of the Labour Party that just wants to pick a fight. But then, that extremism isn't it. No real interest in actually getting policies into action; just a will to destroy the possibility of others, sharing similar but not such anti-democratic views, from doing so.

I have pretty much given up on mainstream media dd, that's why I often cite YouTube channels, blogs, etc.

However, with so many "grannies" aversed to clicking on them and watching, I can see a huge division between the generations on where we get our information. One of the problems with that is the huge division in knowledge. You get so little from MSM; it's basically propaganda while those keeping up with modern sources are learning and will be able to put forward a decent argument.

I have just watched (last night) the latest The Rest is Politics. It covered Whether China's Growth can be Sustained, Global perceptions of Israel-Gaza, Labour-LibDem Bad Blood. I shall watch it again because I know so little about China and the history and reasons of the Israel-Gaza conflict is amazing and it's so good to get away from people just wanting to pick a fight over someone else's war.

I don't see it as a question of like or dislike Galaxy, or personal opinions. Personality politics is what MSM thrives on, and why I rarely use it.

It's about having as many good sources of real knowledge as possible.

The trouble is Campbell plays personality politics or rather tribal politics, or at least he does on Twitter.
I find podcasts much more useful in terms of analysing issues mostly due simply to time. I cant watch Question Time anymore because it is just foolish to think highly complex issues can be tackled in 10 minutes.

As a leader Dar he could ask for a ceasefire as he is loosing the Muslim vote by a huge % polling shows. If he wants to win and you hope so he would have to show equal support for Muslims as he has for Israeli Thats all I have to say. Call for ceasefire Free Palestine

I'm not a granny, but I am well aware of media bias. I just think that we all have to get our news from somewhere, and as I say, none of it is guaranteed to be neutral, and I am less certain than many about the veracity of 'facts'.

When it comes to clicking on links, I'm not averse to looking at them, but for me it depends on when I see them. If I am in the room with Mr Dog, watching TV whilst surfing, I don't click on videos (or sometimes I do to see if they have a script to read with the sound off). I will read articles, but not if they are long and complex and I see them in the middle of a fast-moving conversation. I often bookmark them to read later, but don't always get round to it. Much depends on how interested I am in the topic, and how far the thread has moved on when I come back to it.

During the day I am often working when I'm online, and whether I follow links or not depends how busy I am. Taking regular breaks helps my concentration, so I keep GN and other sites open, and drop in and out. Again, if I have to spend too long on a link I don't look at it immediately, as my concentration would go altogether .

No I am not 25 Oreo. Nor do I put personal information on the internet simply because you are curious. I would guess it's outside the rules to ask someone to do so as following such a request would never be advisable.

Do people now have to registar with you whether they are actual grandparents? I know we have some on here who have said they are not who are equally as welcome as those who are. Basically Oreo, whether anyone is or not it's none of your business.

There is a bias in how the general group of older people and the general group of younger people use the internet and how they get their news. I can't see why stating that fact is contentious.
