Ed Davey says they can. Keir Starmer isn’t sure. Can women have a penis?

I think Robert Winston said it best (expert). He said "No-one can change sex", it's in every cell of your body", or words to that effect.

Exactly

Dress how you want but please it’s time to stop the facade that a man can be a woman and vice versa.

From now on I will report any comment that misrepresents my views perhaps you could start by not misrepresenting the views of others VS.

You've made several posts about what you claim posters have said yet despite being asked to provide examples, have failed to do so.

No I haven't

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 21:49:04

Yes, you have VS and several posters have raised this with you.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 21:58:27

No I haven't

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 22:01:00

If I spot where I've been misinterpreted I address it and I explain. I tried that earlier, quoted the person I replied too and clarified further but someone still assigned a vile thought to me so I reported it

I have not claimed anyone has said or meant something they haven't

If I must prove it Smileless then so should you

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 22:30:33

Oh and I'm not talking about misunderstandings

They happen for lots of reasons

But to claim someone said something they didn't or meant something they didn't... No

I'm the first one to apologise in a misunderstanding

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 22:35:34

I'm not referring to you misinterpreting what a specific poster has said, I'm referring to the way you misrepresent what's been said for example when you said you didn't understand why there's catastrophising on this thread.

You were asked for examples and failed to respond because there aren't any.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 22:44:15

That's not an interpretation Smileless

Thats how I perceive the thread

It's a perception

I appreciate you don't agree with me but that's allowed

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 22:47:33

Also I frequently quote examples where I have been misinterpreted

An example of this is on this thread

Unfortunately addressing it didn't go well and I had to report the result but clearly, I did address it and try to explain before I was forced to report

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 22:52:17

I know it's not an interpretation VS, it's a misrepresentation but as you say, we don't agree.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 22:55:22

Smileless

I don't say people have said things they haven't

You haven't been able to show I do

Yes I think that these threads are catatrophising but that comes from my belief that the majority of trans people are no threat and we do not need to be afraid of them

But that has nothing to do with me lying about what people have said and I wouldn't do that. So it's entirely unfair for you to say I do

VioletSky I wonder if you missed my post at 18:14:30? I tried to explain why saying a woman can have a penis renders the word woman meaningless. Can you think of a word that like cow, ewe or hen in the animal kingdom defines the human adult female?

But a transman can have something they call a penis Rosie51. Now I realise that doesn't fit in with the strange philosophy that transwomen are somehow something completely separate and the two things must never be mentioned.
But it does rather make the question ridiculous as was explained on page1.
If you think a transman is a woman and they have an operation they will have something they call a penis. You may nt like that idea but it is logical.

I was rather surprised that on page 1 you classified a woman who has a rolled up bit of flesh grafted onto her vulva as a woman with a penis. I thought you belonged to the group that believed transmen are men? Would you say to a transman that she's a woman with a penis? Thought not so your argument doesn't quite stand up. I think transmen are women who live and present as men. They aren't men and the few that undergo phalloplasty don't have a penis, they have a construction that may look approximately like one.
As you chose to address my post, can you tell me what the word that exclusively describes and denotes an adult human female is? I presume you don't think ewe, cow and hen are open categories for both sexes of animal?

Of course I wouldn't Rosie51 I'm quite happy to say a transman is a man and may have a penis. Just as I think a transwomen is a woman and may have a penis.
It's quite logical.
I don't know how many times I need to say that woman is a gender term. That I have no idea of the sexual organs of most of the women I meet and that I don't want or need to know.
If ever it does become necessary to expose our sexual organs to pass as a woman I suppose I might have to rethink.
Meantime I shall watch those vainly trying to reject the idea and trying to justify and explain conflicting views with interest.
The explanation now seems to be that because you don't think it is a penis a transman can't have one. I would have imagined that the views of the person you regard as a woman would count, but apparently not.
By the way the clue is in the word-"phalloplasty" the creation of a phallus.

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 22:57:29

I haven't said you lie VS I said you misrepresent and you've just done so again with me.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 23:01:16

The definition of "misrepresent" is "to give a false account"

So no, again Smileless, I have not

Are you happy to draw a line under this yet?

Doodledog Sat 27-May-23 23:03:44

I don't know how many times I need to say that woman is a gender term.
You saying that doesn't make it so, you know?

If 'woman' is a gender term, what is the word for someone born female, with female hormones, XX chromosomes and a female body?

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 23:06:10

The definition of misrepresent is to give a false or misleading account.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 23:10:48

Smileless2012

The definition of misrepresent is to give a false or misleading account.

Go to Miriam Webster and you will see that "lie" is listed a synonym or a word with the same or nearly the same meaning

What did you mean by "misrepresent"?

Perhaps if you can show me proof I can address it and work on it

Otherwise no, I do not misrepresent people and I am not misrepresenting myself

Glorianny Sat 27-May-23 23:11:24

A female??!!!!

Mollygo Sat 27-May-23 23:11:27

Yes you did.
But what’s new?
Did you find evidence you were able to share of what you said, and I asked about?
If not, since you put what you wrote as statements, not opinions, that’s misrepresenting something as fact, ergo giving false account.

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 23:14:51

Btw "lying" is also a synonym of "misleading" so...

Doodledog Sat 27-May-23 23:19:12

So in your opinion you can have a male woman and a female man?

Smileless2012 Sat 27-May-23 23:19:40

I've already explained what I mean and given an example VS so I've nothing more to add.

No you haven't Smileless

I'm not doing this

VioletSky Sat 27-May-23 23:25:11

Also if you do see anyone doing it, report them, it's really horrible behaviour
