It doesn’t does it? This is the result of a joint trader state which is signed up to CPTPP
The investor state tribunal system to which the U.K. has agreed will have complete power is held in total secrecy - in fact we, as voters will not even be aware of the ruling this court gives out.
So if say our government wants to push ahead with environmental protection, enhanced workers rights or carbon taxes, the ISDS will have total and complete control to prevent our government from making these decisions without our (voters) agreement or knowledge.
I note that the EU has announced that it will sign no agreement with the CPTPP that allows such undemocratic rulings to take place.
What on earth was our government thinking?
