I do think though that all the lies that Keir Starmer has told could easily rebound on him during the next election campaign. There are so many videos of him saying one thing and so many of him saying the opposite that can be played together.
Rishi Sunak is making some headway towards appearing as an honest and stable P. M. after the last two, I really don't think a win for Keir Starmer is neccessarily a given.
Oh, I bet there are
. If I worked for the Tories, and had access to vast amounts of footage I could make a video cut so that anyone in the public eye was made to look duplicitous.
If I couldn't manage to shake off their reputation for being a party of heartless liars (on account of it being incredibly difficult to deny), at least I'd get people saying that 'they are all the same', which would be something of a result.
I see the Tories have a new broadcast about their 'Five Priorities'. Remind you of anything? The difference between a priority and a promise, of course, is that one can be held to account and the other can't. And one of the 'priorities' is 'We Will Halve Inflation'. As though the government set the inflation rate. It's so manipulative.
