Such a waste of money being spent hearing him out when it's just blatantly obvious he lied & he's a compulsive liar.
Even if they fine him it still doesn't equate to the number of people fined for Sitting on a park bench, dancing in a pub (when they should have been sat at their table) etc. etc. and the financial & emotional strain it might have put them under.
It's so wrong.

Boris Johnson
(282 Posts)Am watching the questioning of BJ at the moment, it is making me cringe. Any one else feel the same???

NO parties were essential for work- anywhere. No leaving dos either- nowhere. Not even 'leaving dos' for loved ones- aka funerals. The picture of the late Queen sitting on her own will resonate with so many of us forever.
Quite.
Even tho' I'm not a monarchist, there's something poignant about that photo'. Whatever one thinks of royalty - the late Queen adhered to what she believed was her 'duty' as far as I am aware throughout her whole life. Something Johnson cannot and will not comprehend because it's not in his make-up. As one of his tutors implied, he absolves himself of the duties and responsibilities imposed on others, and expects to be 'indulged', simply because he's Boris Johnson. Encouraged, of course, by those who think he's a jolly-good chap.
He didn't get-Brexit-done, and has left everyone else to clear up the mess his deal created, whilst heading off to make some more money for himself.
I wish people would see that the 'Emperor' is not wearing any clothes. I'm sick of listening to him and seeing his cynical grin, he's a manipulator - a clever one - and is playing this game for all it's worth.
I wish him no physical harm, I just would like to see the back of him for good.
Why were people allowed to pass notes to him throughout the enquiry? They were looking things up on phones and passing notes to him.
Oh come on Urmstongra. I know our political views are very different but this man is a liar and would throw you and everyone else under the bus to save himself.
It’s about whether he lied to the house of commons or not. Everything else is irrelevant to that but it won’t be to voters in his constituency at the next General Election. That is if doesn’t get suspended.
But he trusted his advisers. That’s what they are they for, surely? Or why have them?
Surely it was the Government who set the rules, upon the advice of these 'advisers', Urms?
Exactly which part of these rules he and his colleagues set did Boris not understand?
The rest of us understood them.
If only we had known then that leaving events were exempt from social distancing rules. We couldn't visit sick and lonely relatives but it was essential for the PM of the day to raise a glass to anyone leaving number 10 for a new job, he says. Johnson is defending himself on technicalities but can't he see how morally wrong it was? I am baffled by the mindset of anyone who is still supporting him.
You’d think there were more urgent and important news items than that twit. He is a proven liar, everyone knows it. Move on.
It seems that the advisors who assured him yhay no rules were broken were SPADs - political advisors not civil servants.
How many ordinary folk thought at the time they were not even allowed to say a final farewell to their loved ones whilst he had regular boozy leaving dos in no 10?

Not moving on until he has been kicked out of Parliament and politics for good.
It's easy for you to say it from 1,000s of miles away, nanna8, you haven't had to endure the sheer awfulness, humiliation and despair that many of us have felt in the past few years at having that man destroy so much; our democracy, our economy, our standing in the world, all for the sake of of self aggrandisement and enrichment. He is corrupt and rotten to the core. He should be destroyed...
I fear the voters of Uxbridge will vote him in again so he may be with us for a long time to come. I just hope he is never given high office again. His so-called evidence to the Committee was largely bluster and denial and seemed to cut no ice with them. But he is carving out a role as a very expensive after dinner speaker for the rich fools who want to listen to him. In my opinion his friend Lord G defended him on Newsnight with a mixture of diversion, special pleading and bluster. I doubt most viewers were taken in.

Our whole parliamentary system is based on trust, , honour and integrity. This man has destroyed all that. He sickens me.
The verdict, it is thought, won’t be out until May - after the elections.
How this creature who presided over the detailed creation, roll-out and monitoring of Covid lock down rules can pretend that he didn't realise that they were regularly being broken in Downing Street, is utterly beyond belief. He is a stranger to the truth, not for the first time, and the sooner he is excluded from politics the better. Will the Committee bite the bullet and find that he has indeed misled Parliament? If not, that will speak volumes about the moral compass of the Conservative party. I'm not holding my breath..
Apparently the official photographer attended all the parties, but not a single photo was ever put up onto the official web -site. Probably because they knew that the parties broke the rules.
Liar, liar pants on fire he wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him on the bum
His star is on the wane in the Tory party, along with the ERG crowd who used to effectively run this country. They could only come up with 22 votes against the Windsor framework - it was a good day for Sunak.
I think Johnson was hoping to lead a major rebellion but it didn't quite turn out that way.
If he goes who will they replace him with?
I mean in the role as Official Conservative Liar. I was reminded of this yesterday when a trailer came up on television for a rerun of the story of Geoffrey Archer and the Prostitute.
Having an obnoxious and compulsive liar high in the party hierarchy seems to be an important part of Conservative politics. Johnson, Archer and I am sure there has a;ways been one. A bit like the requirement for court jester (Prince Harry/Andrew?)

😂
I think we need you in charge here nanna8 love it!
What is quite incredible, is how Tories themselves are turning- and their dedicated and supportive Press.
I mean Camilla Tominey! And The Telegraph yesterday!
The cult of Boris Johnson – and his Brexit dream – are imploding
As a Tory rebellion on Windsor Framework fails to arrive, Brexit’s poster boy struggles to take back control of his political future'
The Telegraph and Camilla of all people!

Johnson apologists have no shame. People were unable to say goodbye to their dying loved ones.
If only those doctors, nurses, care workers, ambulance crews had worked harder they too would have been entitled to a morale boosting event with imperfect social distancing.

I think lying to the HoC though maybe not "urgent" is rather important.
We'll move on when he's answered the questions - this is all part of that process.
It may not matter to you, but some of us think that honour and integrity in Parliament are essential qualifications for someone who is in control of the government. He is accountable to us - we pay his salary.
Sara Vine this morning says that Johnson was "as agile as a cat". Presumably this is the cat she had in mind.

This isn’t just about the Prime minister lying to parliament, it is about what Johnson has done to the integrity and democratic process of the United Kingdom.
Those responsible for bringing it so much into disrepute like Johnson, the ERG and cohorts need disbanding and getting rid of. The populist agenda they followed needs to be shown for the hollow and divisive ideology it is. The damage they have done to the U.K. is profound.
