I think they should all go.
But if they aren't going to I think he should examine his position carefully and perhps skip the anointing bit certaily for Camilla and possibly for him too.

Camilla’s grandchildren to star in King’s blended family coronation
(286 Posts)www.thetimes.co.uk/article/camilla-grandchildren-coronation-king-charles-parker-bowles-family-role-2023-5w5wdsdpt.
Camilla has reportedly indicated she wants her five grandchildren (three are pictured left); Lola and Eliza, both 15, Freddy, 13, and twins Louis and Gus, also 13, to hold the canopy over her as she is anointed with holy oil on May 6.
So you suggest he abdicates?

Some people seem to have very unforgiving natures. To err is human, to forgive is divine, no? Are all those who criticise Charles and Camilla, who have been very happy together, without sin?
I don't really care what they do. I think they are happy. I do resent public money being used to crown one very rich man and his second wife.
I also think if you buy into the whole idea of God and Christianity you should at least look carefully and examine what you are doing, particularly if you are head of a church whose members don't all approve of it.
GSM the sainthood of Diana must be upheld .
Gosh did Camilla force 28 year old Diana to push her step mother down a flight of stairs ,
Sounds very distasteful. Surely we know enough about what Saville did without it being dramatised?
No documentary, a drama about Saville with Steve Coogan
playing Saville. So fiction.

Charles could have married Camilla in church after Diana died but for one little problem. The C of E accepts second marriages after divorce but not usually if the relationship began before or contributed to the divorce. (So that was out!)
It's all a bit of a joke isn't it?
I mean in 1953 A young woman making her vows to God in a church she sincerely believed in was touching.
In 2023 an old man making vows and being anointed, along with the woman he had a long term affair with, watched by his children, her children, his grandchildren and her grandchildren, some of whom won't be speaking, is the stuff of soaps and Hollywood. I just wish Hollywood was paying for it.
Well-said GloriannyHollywood?
Nope, it’s the stuff of history, British history. Can’t have been many, or any kings that didn’t have mistresses.
It’s because they could never marry for love reasons.
Of course they did. And Edward VII had 3 of his at his coronation, but he didn't marry them and they weren't anointed and crowned.
That's why it's Hollywood and not history. Or maybe Charles read too many Mill&Boone romances
I can think of the insensitivity of publishing anything about Jimmy Savile at any time. Evidently you feel his behaviour needs resurrecting, especially if you can link it to your dislike of the RF.
A broadcast for you to look forward to Grany.
Another I would/wouldn’t watch it discussion for GN.
The BBC has reportedly delayed a documentary on Jimmy Saville due this year until 2024 because of 'sensitivities'.
One can't help but wonder what might be sensitive about publishing it this year...
Diana was prone to knee jerk reactions
faye17
Whatever knee-jerk reaction Diana may have had to the cold, adulterous and manipulative behaviour of her husband not to mention to the growing realisation that she was the toy for both Charles & his ladylove to manipulate since the very outset have absolutely nothing/zero to do with the fitness of either manipulator to be king or queen.
Adultery was the least of their sins.
Thank you for your post...
I agree with everything you've written

Seen and heard - the press, media and Diana
I don’t know, none of us know, unless we have moved in royal circles, which we havnt, but it’s my opinion based on what I have seen and heard over 40 odd years.
Your opinion is clearly different and that’s fine.
How do you know silverlining ?
Well yes, he did do it first......

I also agree.
Charles is spoiled, selfish and blinkered. Always has been. What he wants, he gets. So quite despotic really.

Saints are venerated
I dont venerate her but she is dead so not a great deal to say about her, I think for me it was her age and his age that made his behaviour particularly uncomfortable for me.

So a woman has an affair with a married man and the fault lies all with the man, Diana did what Camilla did yet it’s Camilla who takes all the blame, Diana still the victim 🙄
Waits for the excuses of “Well he did it first”
I still can’t get my head round D’s treatment of her children tied to her continued veneration by the masses.

Surely Mr Manakee, Mr Carling and Mr Hoare were as much if not more at fault. It was they who broke their vows to their wives.
