'Hi-de-Hi' star Ruth Madoc has died

She suffered a fall but didn’t die from that according to the news she died while having surgery for the fall

She was due to be in panto at Torquay when she had the fall. She die in hospital possibly during the operation. A sad loss

A nice lady from all accounts and will be much missed. I loved Hi de Hi and she was brilliant in it.

She’d suffered a fall apparently & posted ‘don’t worry about me I’ll be back soon’.
RIP dear lady. You brought sunshine to many.

Very sad. More so for me as I’ve met her several times as there is an extended family connection. She was lovely in real life too.

Yes she was brilliant in Hi de Hi, it was such a funny programme. One of the best!

Oh what a shame. I loved Gladys Pugh. So funny. We took DD to see Ruth in panto once. I think she played Robin Hood. She used her own voice and the children were shouting 'Hi De Hi'. RIP Ruth.
