Why on earth was Boris on holiday?

Well his mate Rees-Mogg has been very rude and sarcastic about those not working at their desk in the office, even when just around the corner!!! An MP should be in his Constituency or at Westminster, unless on official Government business. Oh the hypocrisy!

We spent two weeks in Dom Rep in 2019, was able to log into business everyday, no problems.

Just because someone is not in the office doesn’t mean they are not working. How many people are now working remotely post Covid?

Look on the bright side though if he wasn't working remotely he couldn’t cause any more damage, every cloud has a silver lining etc.

Don't you believe MPs should do the job they are elected, and paid, to do?

Teachers are not allowed to take holidays in term time and neither should MPs. They are supposed to represent their constituents in parliament and vote on important issues. They get over 20 weeks of recess. They should only book holidays in that time.

They're not even really interested in the money either, though it is a means to an end. It has got to be the power otherwise why would Boris consider coming back for more?

It's not about his material worth or disposable income.

It's about him being absent from an important job in a time of crisis when he was being paid to do the job in hand which is represent his constituents.

He was moonlighting at the public's expense so yes, I agree with you, let's concentrate on his competency to lead and govern. It's not good, is it?

I just get fed up with people analysing any policitician's wealth all the time .... how much their house is worth, how much their holiday costs, how much they paid for their smart shoes, whether they drink expensive wine etc etc. Some people have the money, let them afford these things, and try concentrate more on their competency to lead and govern.

He pays for very little and let's face it would you have noticed if he had taken a single ticket? I certainly would not and I live in the constituency next to his, about a mile separating us and one can hear the grumbles- he will never be MP there again.

Johnson was on 'holiday' to take advantage of a lucrative side hustle.

Local Dominican Republic news sites reported that Johnson arrived at Punta Cana on October 7th, left on the 10th to travel to Washington and returned to the Dominican Republic on 12th October.

He was in the USA to give a speech and 'fireside chat' to the Insurance Leadership Forum. On 12th October The Daily Telegraph reported that he was paid £316,014 for appearing at the event.

Whilst he was on holiday and earning twice the PM's annual salary for one speech, parliament was sitting, the cost of living crisis was deepening, the pound was plummeting against the dollar and Johnson's constituents were not represented.

This man could be our next PM.

My daughter pointed out that for someone coming back from holiday he doesn’t look too good.

As for the expensive resort, however, if he has the money then why not? I doubt very much that his mates are footing the bill every time now.

Got it in one J52. But are there no rules on the matter. Parliament is in session, after a VERY long recess- with plenty of time for Johnson to go on 2 good family holidays- surely rules should state that a 'working' MP should be working in their Constituency and represent them in the House?

Probably because he couldn’t care less about the UK, it’s laws and people, but cares very much about being the centre of attention.

Johnson has been on holiday since July 13th, a total of 14 weeks!
His work ethic alone should bar him from ever being PM again.
