Who determines that it was an inappropriate dress for the occasion? Who determines that showing a glimpse of your back is not the "done" thing?
I think the dress was lovely and who are we to judge what is appropriate. If it was appropriate in Carrie's eyes, it was appropriate. I don't think anyone should have to dress according to other people's taste and as long as it was decent, why are people so upset? Anybody would think that she was wearing a frontless dress or showing her knickers! I wonder who the Guardian approached to find out that the dress was "the epitome of bad taste" apart from the fashion police. It is all just nastiness about a woman who had the temerity for fall in love with Boris and marry him.
