It’s so very sad isn’t it. PC and Diana, both wretched, isolated and miserable within weeks of their engagement. Then those two boys/young men, growing up in the spotlight of a messy divorce. Diana’s dreadful death, the walk behind her coffin, confirming the expectation they as members of the RF should push feelings/emotion down,
Dreadful way to treat children, yet I don’t believe the RF understood that. I believe they did their best during that awful time.

Diana’s death. This makes for interesting reading
(320 Posts)I had no idea about most of this.

Callistemon - the children’s father didn’t provide a healthy atmosphere for the children either imo
No he didn't, I agree.
But Diana tried to get rid of the one person who did provide some stability in the boys' lives with her paranoid accusations.
No he didn't Iam.
The 'Princes in the Tower' are still talked about aren't they Callistemon and so, as you say will Diana for years to come.

^You choose to run around with euro trash when you know that you're the Mother of two Royal sons - one of whom will be King one day - and it's not hard to see that you're already making some very poor choices. Although it would seem she was unaware that the risks she was taking were enormous.^
What a horrible way of describing someone. She may have made poor choices but what you have written seems to have been a particularly poor choice of words.
I don't think that Princess Diana was murdered but I do think her days were numbered one way or another. Although she was perfectly entitled to sleep with whom she wanted, the RF or State would have not wanted this as the mother of the future King of England. I also think that she probably got caught up in the moment with the clamour of the Paparazzi, the chase and a new flirtation so probably couldn't think straight with all the adrenalin which must have been surging through her. What a horrible end that must have been and I firmly blame the media.
I hate that she died but she taught me a lifelong lesson. Always travel with a seat belt.
I was stunned by the euro trash comment as well, so thanks for quoting it. It’s a horrible way of describing anyone. Al Fayed was desperate for acceptance by the rich and powerful, that’s one of the reasons he added Al to his name, for status.
Diana was looking healthy and enjoying the freedom a young divorcee could have. She was a young naive 19 year old virgin when she married. She was a beautiful woman, appreciating positive attention from men, after a marriage in which she clearly wasn’t appreciated but seen as a trial.
She and Charles were ill suited. They appear to have seen hardly anything of each other before the marriage. I suspect the advice from Mountbatten to find a suitable girl, with no history, marry and continue to have affairs, didn’t help.
I don’t really believe she was murdered but, I’m with germanshepherd’s mum in believing mi5/6 and the establishment have ways of resolving difficult problems
Cossy I agree
However, such a high profile person will be discussed for years to come, she is part of our history.

I tend to think that's the married persons decision. I find the counting of how many people others have slept with really weird.
The wives didn't have that decision to make.
I don't care who or how many lovers she had but when it might affect two young boys then it might be of concern.
She was needy and for ever seeking love. Not surprising but not a healthy atmosphere for children.
Btw I agree with everyone here stating she was a very sad person who had an awful life and she should be left in peace
I remember her death very well. It was so clearly an accident that could easily have been avoided I loved what I knew of Diana but she was a terrible choice of wife, she had a dreadful childhood, was very naive and very unstable and just looking for love! The car was speeding, the driver was over the limit, Diana had no need to go back into a car, they were “safe” in their hotel and no one passengers were wearing seat belts - sad and tragic but not deliberate ! She might well have survived had she worn her seat belt

Her real love was Hasnat Kahn and they were together for 2 years and she even met his family .... there was much more likelihood of her marrying him than Dodi.
Yes indeedy. Another most likelihood is that her over exuberant behaviour was all I. Aid of making Hasnat Khan jealous and for him to retract their break up. These types of schemes almost always backfire in some way and would be just the type of inexperienced adolescent idea she would come up with , her having zero expert of relationships and their dynamics.sad state of things.
He would have made sure that Diana married Dodi. What a prize for him, entry to the RF. step grandfather of a future king, his son the step father.

It doesn't matter how much you examine what happened afterwards its the bit before the crash that mattered. Someone shone a bright light in the drivers eyes and another car pushed Diana's off the road. The worst thing Diana could have done was marry Dodi and make him stepfather to Will & Harry & they couldn't let her do that
Your theory is demolished! Have you any clue about thencar she was in? It's weight , structure and stability? No. It would take another of the same or greater vehicle to even nudge it. Utter bilge I'm afraid.

Mr Fayed as early as 1986 was trying to get close to the RF by buying some of Simpson’s personal items when it went on sale.
He owns/owned the Windsor's Paris residence! He couldn't get enough of them greedy little nonentity!
My one time BiL was a Saudi diplomat. He said Fayed was NEVER "Al" fayed.he added that prefix to elevate his status, it indicates an upper class if you like in the Arab world. He was obsessed with being accepted into upper echelons of society and never ever got over the fact that British citizenship was repeatedly denied to him mostly because of his dodgy tax history and other dealings.suffice to say I truly think Diana was mercilessly used and manipulated first by royals and then every chancer she met after being dumped by Charles! She was a naive damaged kid who was shoehorned into a role utterly alien to her for selfish reasons of successful production of heirs for our royal lineage. An absolute disgrace. The term " poor little rich girl" holds a poignant and hollow echo to it for her .her son's have been terribly damaged by all the horrible events dished out to them, and they having no control or "off" switch to give them peace even now. Sad sad history of our country and I think one of the most terrible and despicable since Henry V111 slaughtered his wives and named himself "god" in order to bed hop unchallenged as he wished!

I wish people would just let her rest in peace. Does nobody care about what all these newspaper reports must do to William and Harry? Everyone is still so eager to read all the possible lies being written about Diana and what happened to her. Discussion about her should be banned on here for a start....
Good point. I wonder how many of us would want our personal family tragedies bandied about and gossiped about by all and sundry?
Or is it the fact that they are the RF give people a right to be unkind to the children? It evidently gives the newspapers and TV the right to satisfy the prurient interest of the general public.
And people wonder why questions remain Glorianny. If the blood test results were correct, why not allow them to be verified independently.
I really don't see what she was doing or how she was behaving was in any way unusual after such a public divorce. Even people who have normal marriages and get divorced often go through terrible emotional pain and act out of character. The fact she'd had an awful childhood and an eating disorder wont have helped matters but I honestly feel nothing but empathy for her. Her end to life was tragic.
The media love hounding famous women who are going through emotional pain and it never ends well, that isn't the fault of the women.
Maybe not because Dodi was a Muslim, but because of who his father was.

Drunk driver,
No seat belt. End of!!
Too many conspiracy theories. And we all love one, don’t we?

So could you explain to me please why the driver's parents were not permitted an independent blood test? And how the driver supposedly an alcoholic using anti-depressants managed to pass the tests to renew his pilots licence a short time before. Something which requires clear blood and urine samples.
DeeDe no way was the royal family allowing that relationship to continue
Why? Because Dodi was a Muslim? But that's not logical because Diana had a much longer and more serious relationship with Hasnat Kahn before Dodi, and she wasn't killed then.

Galaxy she didn’t mind being the third in other women’s
marriages , you would ?
Diana was used and only needed to produce heirs …
Then thrown away as she wouldn’t keep quite, about her husbands continued affair with that woman
Coincidence she died ??? Really !!!
I'm quite incredulous that people believe she was murdered.
