I usually ignore threads on this topic too, but I was bored. Quite honestly, I don't understand why people get so energised about it. Presumably they're just as concerned about the thousands of children who are abused, have mental health problems, live in poverty, etc. I can't understand why there are fewer threads about the latter.

I thought your partner was a scientist to whom I've certainly known you reference. Does he really believe that any human can change their DNA so as to change sex? Has he ever discussed this with you? DNA is in every cell of our bodies. To my knowledge thoughts and wishes have never succeeded in changing DNA before, but perhaps you can point us to the peer reviewed studies of where this has happened? Or are we to discount science entirely? If it's so subject to individual interpretation maybe the scientific 'evidence' surrounding Covid is equally as woolly?

Yes, he is a scientist. Do I have to agree with whatever he thinks (which is none of your business)? I actually am allowed my own opinions.

I wish I'd known that earlier, just completed almost two weeks of isolation because I was testing positive for Covid. If I'd just identified as Covid free I could have gone out and about knowing I wasn't a risk to anyone. Next time, if I should be unlucky enough to catch it again......

The Telegraph is publishing an interview tomorrow with a young girl, who went through the whole trans ideology programme @ the Tavistock, and says that it took her to the brink of suicide. She wasn't trans; she was autistic and bisexual, but was funnelled through a system that was so hard to disentangle herself from, that she suffered serious harm physically, mentally and emotionally. It's behind a pay wall but I'll see if I can get access.

I have no stats or data for you growstuff and neither, apparently have the Tavistock; hence today's ruling. The full enormity of that won't be known until the Cass report is published it's expected to be demning on not just their lack on data keeping.

For those who have benefited, that's great news and they've been "the lucky ones". But as today's report has revealed, there are too many children who's lives haven't been improved, or saved, by what's been happening at the Tavistock. Their stories will be heard shortly.

Maybe I will. I've also listened to the two young people I personally know, who were born as boys and have now transitioned and are very happy. So that's 1-2.

Whilst I think it’s wonderful that the Tavistock is closing, I worry that the practitioners working there simply move on to either of the proposed new clinics and continue to believe and work exactly as they have been doing for so many years. I know that the clinics are going to be multi-disciplinary, but with so much of the NHS being under the thrall of Stonewall, I hope that safe-guarding procedures and policies are stringently observed.

I suspect that, in the not too distant future, there will be a significant number of claims brought against the NHS by some of the children who have been put on puberty blockers, at a very early age, and are reaping the repercussions years down the line. Keira Bell is just one of what could well be hundreds in the next few years.

The report on what was happening at the Tavistock is devastating. I think it's also important to recognise the bravery of the detransitioners like Keira Bell who spoke out about what had happened to her. And a reminder that even the legal cases that fail have long lasting impact.

I think there are 30 000 on the detrans reddit, no say of measuring the reality of that. Long term follow up seems to have been absent for decades on this issue.

It’s the lives of hundreds/thousands of other children that SG, via Mermaids, has affected that concern me. How many of them have/had puberty blockers, gender reassignment surgery, and regret it? The number of de-transitioners is ever growing apparently, and they are becoming much more vocal in their outrage about what has happened to them. .
