"Every woman on the left has said her piece about the Conservative party"
Assuming that we're all "on the Left" - which I don't believe we are, but never mind.
The electorate is under no obligation to be kind to a party, or its leader, if they feel that party - particularly if it is in power - has mismanaged its obligations and duties. We are not - us voters - a charitable institution. MPs represent us, we pay their salaries and for their perks and have every right to hold them to account.
And, as the Right will make no bones about their contempt for the Left, both inside Westminster and outside of it, besmirching and smearing their leaders, MPs and party members, then sauce for the goose, etc.
You deem it a "hate-fest". It isn't, it's a consensus of opinion about a party, its leader, and the prospective leaders, about whom there is very much a cause for concern. Even some of the RW media is critical.
When someone lies - consistently and continuously - and his government support those lies (until they don't any longer), then it is only a matter of time before the worm turns. If you cannot trust the PM of your country to be at least honest and tell the truth, then democracy is finished.
