On the contrary, dear lady, I very much have a clue.

Apparently the courts only allowed the flight to take place provided Patel agreed to bring the asylum seekers back to the U.K., should the judgement go against the government in July.

Most normal governments would wait for that judgement and not spend extravagant amounts of money.

Pritti ‘awful’ Patel is appalling. She should have been sacked a long time ago when that bullying report came out, which Johnson conveniently ignored. Does she not understand international law? Does she sleep at night?

Well, well, the court set up by Johnson’s hero - Winston Churchill - the ECHR - looks as if it is going to stop the barbaric transportation of at least one and more if they get a move on.

Next thing no doubt will be the idiot Johnson’s decision to leave the ECHR. Then none of us will have recall to a court that is totally independent.

If we leave the ECHR then the Good Friday Agreement goes belly up...

I'm sure I posted this before. People are not illegal. That is a ridiculous thing to say. Arriving in a country and applying for asylum is not illegal.

No doubt the government and its acolytes will use this as ammunition in its war against "woke lefties", but for tonight the important thing is that the plane didn't fly.

Just watching the BBC and it says that Downing Street has said the flight won't leave tonight.

The government deserves to be embarrassed.

It is embarrassing for the government Urmstongran but they were warned about it almost certainly being illegal and tried to go ahead anyway.

I don't want to live in a pariah state.

The ECHR was set up with huge support from Churchill to protect Europeans from the extremes of Nazism and Stalinism and I'm glad it still has some teeth after all these years.
