Pro Queen / anti M&H

Odd question. I am pro my sister but very much anti her husband who I really can't stand.

They have much more impact on me than the Queen and H&M.

So it can be done

I think ultimately, those that dislike M&H would like them banished, like the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. But QE knows how much damage that caused her family, so will never tolerate that. I assume Charles (who I don't support, weak man) agrees, but who knows?

H&M are part of her family and she will want to forgive them and keep them close. We on the other hand feel no such connection to them and have no obligation to forgive them. Forgiveness requires remorse on their part and they have shown none. Our feelings are protective towards the Queen and we anticipate they will be doing more harm when the book comes out. That's why our feelings are different to the Queen's.

So.

The Queen is our sovereign lady. She has the power to influence the government of this country. We must give way to her in all things and never criticise her.

But we know better than her what is good for her when it comes to family and we will protect her.

I think to reach such a great age, and assuming you are still compos mentis, the desire to let a lot wash over you increases. What others deem as transgressions may pall into insignificance, all part of the passage of time. I imagine she wants to see the great grandchildren, one who she has had a brief time with and the other she hasn't met, maybe not too many more opportunities for that. I think from what we know of her, the character of the Queen is unsullied by harbouring ill or malevolence.

Then I stopped liking them, and sympathised with the Queen, Charles, William and Kate whom they chose to accuse and belittle on global television. I don't find them likeable. Full stop.

I don't often read posts on the 'estrangement' threads, but am so very grateful this hasn't happened in my family (yet, touch wood etc.).
I imagine the Queen will do all she can to avoid such heartbreak in her family too.

If the Queen was having a private celebration I the way that we all do with birthdays, anniversaries etc then of course she is entitled to invite whoever she wishes.
This however is a very public occasion with many events over the weekend.
For those members of the public who dislike what H&M have done and said it must be galling to see them being lauded in this way.
It is the “cat that got the cream “ expressions and the attendant camera crews they bring with them that rather spoils it all for me.

No I didn’t, but I read various reports. It seems to me that a lot they said was taken out of context leading to lopsided stories appearing in the press. The tabloids decided to despise them. I still believe if Meghan had been a rosy cheeked blonde from an aristocratic background, she would have been fine. Kate had ten years of bad press before the tabloids ‘accepted’ her. Remember the Waity Katy rubbish and the opprobrium she received for having difficult pregnancies?

That is total nonsense. The public welcomed her for the wedding and would have accepted her just fine. It was her attitude and behaviour that soured the relationship we have with her. If Harry had married Chelsey Davey or Cressida Bonas and either had behaved like Meghan the outcome would have been exactly the same.
