I read this post with sudden hope and then reality took its place. How this useless, idiotic, dangerous man ever got anywhere Downing Street defeats any reasoning. The Tory Party is revealed to be as self seeking as its leader. Now we will remember who stood up for decency and integrity.

On the one hand, a very significant proportion of the electorate want him gone and dread the further damage he could do in the next 2 years, but, on the other hand, a further 2 years of Johnson is an absolute gift to the opposition parties and would destroy the tory party for a considerable length of time.

That's if we ever get another GE, of course ?

Hold my nose and hope he stays, or think of the damage he is doing to the country and be glad he’s gone.

He’s going to get away with it isn’t he??

The 54 letters is fine, but at the first vote, unless 180 vote against Johnson, (51%), he will get through, without competition from others.

Then they can't touch him for a year.

Some media sources are reporting that the letters are in, but that Graham Brady wants to wait until after Jubilee weekend before announcing it.

I think that what has finally pushed them into action is Johnson’s lurch even further right, with right wing and nationalist policies, like the change to the ministerial code, the plan to override the NI protocol, review of fracking, imperial measurements, the expansion of grammar schools and the intention to tear up EU regulation. Undoubtedly the reaction that Tory MPs are finding from their constituents, to all these nationalistic policies has alarmed them into action.

I hope not.
