Would somebody please tell Omid Djalili that the Queen is Her Majesty and not a Royal Highness!
Yes, that set my teeth on edge too. You’d think that he must have rehearsed it and known the correct title. I felt embarrassed.
you can reheartse and rehearse and rehearse and still mess up when its live...and I think he can be forgiven for being nervous....and I don't think the Queen took his parliament comment as a dig, she really laughed!
Shame she couldn't attend the Queen's Speech thing, but must remember she may have good days and bad days, and Charles needs to be brought on stream as it were.
Shame she allowed the initial proroguing of Parliament too.
She looks great today, in yellow, opening the Elizabeth line on the Crossrail project. Prince Edward was to to do it, but last minute plans meant they changed the height of the plaque to suit HM's height!
Daddima I agree that HM’s problems could be cognitive. She certainly seemed far more relaxed and carefree than I’ve ever seen her before at a public event.
Looks like from now on the only things she's going to do that involve leaving the castle are the things that she really likes. Can't say I blame her, at 96.
I loved the photo in todays papers of the Queen putting on some lipstick part way through! I thought she looked wonderful and so much healthier than in some photos earlier this week.
She put lipstick on IN PUBLIC? My mother would condemn that as "Common"!
Where have you all been, just Google ‘Queen reapplies lipstick in public’, and there are loads of images of her doing it through the years. It’s not a new phenomenon that indicates she’s got cognitive issues, for goodness sake!

Indeed, who could blame her. I think we all get to that stage.
My mother is 94 years old and totally unable to even stand independently or even when holding her walker. She now needs a hoist to get her into and out of bed or into her wheelchair, consequently I think the Queen is doing extremely well to still be able to walk independently at all, or at least using a walking stick. She is a very lucky lady to still be able to do this.
I wish I could still take my mother out occasionally, but not only can she not get into a car as she can’t stand, but I would be totally unable to attend to her toilet needs should the need arise. We are now confined to taking her for a short walk in the care home garden in her wheelchair.
Did anyone notice that the yellow outfit was teamed with blue flowers in the hat, and elsewhere. Both blue and yellow were the in the shades of the Ukraine flag. I would we willing to bet that that was quite deliberate. All the royal women often dress in colours or styles that convey support people, causes, or countries, but probably the first time it has been to support a foreign country attacked by its neighbour
Could it be the same outfit she wore at William's wedding? With new buttons and a few alternations? (Sorry, one photo might be a bit blurred, haven't got time to search properly).
