Making abortion illegal does not stop it - a desperate woman will resort to any measures if she feels driven to it. TheodoraP, I know of two young women who received news during the pregnancy of their much longed for second child, that the foetus had disabilities incompatible with life.
One woman terminated the pregnancy, one continued and gave birth to a child which lived a few days.
Which one was right? Both of them, of course, because they were able, in the midst of their grief and pain, to make a decision which was right for them and their families. I don't want those choices removed from them.

I'm not getting into this, but I trust the doctors and researchers to know when a baby is viable, and not some bigoted, religious people on the US right.
