I found it reassuring that Fiona wasn’t as terrified about the possibility of nuclei war as she used to be when she was young because I’ve been pondering on that myself. Decided it was because I’d spent the past couple of years convinced that I was going to die of covid. When Beth said she wanted to carry on talking to Fiona she really meant it. And it was sad that Fiona said that it would be more difficult for someone from her background to reach the positions that she has now. I must listen to it again.
Terrific interview MayBee70. Thanks for flagging this up. Like Rigby, I would like for it to have been longer. Now I've flagged Hill's book There Is Nothing For You Here for my next Audible listen.
Strangely enough they also discussed the disadvantage of Fiona having a broad northern accent. It’s obviously a good job only Eton/Oxbridge educated people tend to get most of the top jobs.
Just watched it on Sky News. Covered so many topics I can’t really put it in one section but a fascinating interview, full of insights into Trump, Putin, Angela Raynors legs etc. It’s on utube as a podcast.
