The party has become a reflection of its leader, Bumbling Boris. Until they get rid of him they don't stand a chance at the next election. Gordon Brown is right with his assessment.
True, BlueBelle. They seem to hark back to the Victorian idea of the deserving, as opposed to the undeserving, poor. Poverty is one's own fault, apparently. Some of us are aware, though, that however comfortable we may seem to be, things can go wrong very quickly and thoroughly for anyone at all.
The lack of awareness, the crass behaviour is disgusting, but still people will vote for them. I know we have local elections coming up because there is a rash of announcements about speed camera/pothole filling....they must think we are daft, but then again, given the number of people who are prepared to turn a blind eye or excuse the treatment of the electorate, maybe the Tories are right in their assessment.
Imagine you are invited to a party, you are a representative of a constituency and will have have thousands of your constituencies bereaved. You get out of your car and in front of you are people holding candles and articles of remembrance.
What sort of person, ignores their existence and walks by without a glance?
It is a sorry state when the Government, in power at the time of unprecedented deaths from a disease, cannot send anyone/ make a statement to recognise the loss suffered by so many. It would have been a kind & thoughtful gesture.
Perhaps the government ( not necessarily all party members/ supporters) do not feel kindness & thoughtful behaviour are values to promote.
