Should asylum seekers have the right to work?

Of course they should. but some countries don't allow it - it depends what category they are in.
When we lived in France we saw many immigrants begging. I asked one - where do you live? She said - in a car.
Why don't you work ? She said, we're not allowed.

Many are professionals doctors nurses solicitors and those that aren’t would love to and should earn their own money

There seems to be a disconnect between what most of us would regard as common sense - let asylum seekers work and the ideological stance of the Vote Leave government - "hostile environment"

Yes they should be allowed to work. Sadly these days all asylum seekers are seen as spongers but I like to think that the majority want to make a better life by their own efforts and working is one way of allowing them some dignity, at least.

Yes. Otherwise they are relying solely on taxpayers, not good for them, not good for the taxpayer. Many are very skilled and it would be so frustrating to have to sit around not working.

Definitely. My work meant I met many refugees/asylum seekers from war torn African countries. We had teachers, nurses for example, all spoke two or three languages due to the Colonial history. They’d struggle on £75 a week when they could have been working and contributing to our economy

Definitely yes. Good for them and good for us.
We need to speed up the process before they begin to feel disenfranchised, despondent and depressed.

If they are emotionally and physically able and if they have skills which are needed, with support working should be encouraged.

It will help them to integrate into the U.K. way of life, give them a purpose and hopefully stop some sectors of society calling them illegal scroungers

A disused hotel nearby is being used as a refuge for asylum seekers,mainly young men. Don’t know where they are from. I see them pass by daily , to be honest they look lost and bored , just going for walks to pass the time, why can’t they work ? , they could earn money and feel of use I am sure , I feel sorry for them , they must have left families at home,

Yes of course they should. They could all be issued with a National Insurance number, pay tax and if they can support themselves its all well.

I’ve met several legal migrants who were doctors, dentists etc. in their own country. We need a conversation scheme so we can use all their skills to help us and to help them. I’m pretty sure their are refugees in the same situation.

of course they should theres a lot of talented people amongst refugees and asylum seekerswho would be an asset ,not the drain that we usually hear on here.
Maybe we could treat them as people in a way we'd like to be treated if it was us.
