This is all Meghan’s doing. Her motto is, if you don’t like it, can’t get your own way, sue. He does what he’s told. A bear of little brain.

Apparently he now says he merits protection as the UK is still his home. Nah! Pull the other one! And even if it were he is most definitely not a working Royal as we know it.

It is interesting that the Sussex Lawyers use his Royal Succession position (6) to demand protection for him and his family.

Are they saying that if a tragedy were to occur which wiped out Charles and William and his three children, then Harry would return to the UK to take up his position as King? Really? He has opted out of taking a smaller role, which is his absolute right, but would take on the starring one if it was necessary? If he wouldn't then being 6th in line is irrelevant to their argument. Any time Harry performs an official royal duty he will, of course, be provided with Royal Protection Officers.

I’m a bit unsure what the end game is as Harry must know that he can’t buy protection from the Met and as sure as eggs are eggs he’ll be fully aware that the vast majority of his relations get no security at all provided. He’ll also be fully aware that only a tiny minority of royals receive any protection at all and apart from the Queen, his father and Camilla, and his brother and his family, that protection is only ever available for those other royals when they’re engaged in royal duties. Harry knows this, so why the histrionics?

I wonder if Harry thinks he will succeed in forcing the Met to provide the security he says he wants? Or is it just a way of staying in public view? Or is it that he wants to include this saga in his Netflix/Spotify work? Or to provide further evidence of how dreadfully he’s been treated?

I feel really sorry for the Queen. The mess with Andrew, the investigation into Prince Charles’ charity and now, not satisfied with a ‘tell all’ book on the way, this little twerp is going to the High Court !! He and Meghan supposedly moved to the States to get away from the publicity, and have done nothing but court it ever since. He’s now a private citizen and if he didn’t publicise his movements he wouldn’t need the security, but somehow I get the feeling that anonymity doesn’t suit.

If that's what he wanted he could make a private visit to her with no-one knowing anything about it until they were back in the US. As has been said before. What they want is to swan around and be seen on the balcony.

Megan managed to get to the States for her Baby shower without anyone finding out until she was spotted coming out of an hotel .Why can't they use the same method to make a discrete visit to his gran. If the pair can cause a fuss and get attention they will.They want to be seen on the balcony, hiding the children faces of course.

He has many options he does not have a unique problem here - how do you think that Russian Oligarchs and foreign Royals organise their trips to the UK? Indeed the Obama's daughter spends time in London without having this hoohaa.

- he can pay for private security from the US or UK - there are many ex-Military and indeed former Royal Protection Officers that run security outfits
- he can take up Prince Charles' offer to stay with him and be covered by his RPOs
- Harry has been offered "exceptional status" by the government which means that he will be covered by royal protection on a case by case basis. This is the same deal that Princess Anne and Prince Edward have as they are covered for Royal duties - but it wouldn't cover him to use the Met Police when he comes to film for his £100 million Netflix contract

Nothing to do with red tape, Harry used to get that protection as a working member of the RF. He's now not a working member of the RF so like the other family members in the same position ,he is not now entitled to that particular protection, and it cannot be bought, as has been previously explained. I can't believe you don't already know this trisher and the reasons for such a ruling. Why would his family be at any more risk than the Wessex's or the Tindalls? unless he is worried that his venom has incited an incident? Harry couldn't have risen further in the Army, he just wasn't academic enough, and certainly not for a desk job. He only got into Sandhurst because of who he is, his qualifications wouldn't have got him past Lance Corporal in the real world.

Harry doesn't understand 'private'. He thought he did but ....

Perhaps he wants to take the kids to Peppa Pig World, like Boris did, while he is here.
I'm sure Police Officer Panda could provide adequate security.

I disagree Janamax. If he really wants to see his grandmother, he and his family could easily slip into the country under the radar, go and visit her, and slip back out again without anyone knowing they have been.

He and Meghan have enough incredibly wealthy friends, who could loan them private jets, and they could travel between the landing airport and whichever Royal home the Queen is at, by a car with blacked out windows, and the same in reverse.

His family is only at risk if he fanfares his movements. They could be as anonymous as they wish - but I don't suppose they are yearning for anonymity.

He was hounded by the press when he was here last year and allegedly having access to someone's private jet won't stop the press. Diana, was hounded by the press when she was on a private yacht and she was in a private car when she was killed whilst being chased by the press. Having access to private planes is no protection from a determined press wanting a scoop in my opinion.

Yes but he was here in a public capacity for the unveiling, not private. If he wants to privately meet with the Queen, he doesn't need to announce it to anyone. He can be as private as he chooses.

So do you think we should relax the gun laws trisha so that high profile people can have armed security?

Or should visitors from other parts of the world be allowed to bring armed security to our streets.

We all know what happens when a US citizen kills a boy on a road. Would you like that immunity for overseas security staff?

Or should any private individual be able to hire our Police Force with guns to protect their interests?

Several scenarios there. Which one would be what you would want for your vision of Britain?

Lots of people haven't met new grandchildren, great-grandchildren because of Covid. It's upsetting but there it is.

He wants to pay for armed Police security but it's not available to members of the public just because they can offer to pay.

I'm not sure why he thinks he should be entitled to it or to be able to pay for something not available to anyone else!

Yes that is true. So Harry has to decide what he wants to do within those rules, as a consequence of HIS decisions. What he cant do is expect to "bend the rules" even if that makes some difficulties for him or means he cant do exactly what he wants to do.

I don't understand this.
He wants to pay for something he used to get by right - a level of security he can't get from any other source.
How is this setting a precedent? Who else is in a situation like this?

It’s not red tape trisher. He isn’t entitled to police protection as he’s no longer a working member of the RF and if he’s allowed to pay for it how are the police to prevent celebrities from demanding the same? As has already been said several times he can make a purely private visit and then the issue won’t arise.

...or just arrive quietly, stay with his family and leave quietly!
