That explains a lot Fanny if they are all half drunk at work much of the time.
Halal and Kosher meat should labelling be mandatory?

Anyone else excited? ?
I bet that Angela Rayner couldn’t sleep last night!
I assume that she’ll be doing it as Starmer is self isolating (for the sixth time, no less).
Apparently, Johnson is making a statement before PMQs, which is highly unusual.

The PM’s statement was an excuse for an apology! His carefully lawyered statement, that he was unable to build upon after delivery (having no doubt been told he could make matters worse) was designed to insult the British public by treating them as gullible idiots.
Three days later the Barnard Castle story broke. One now see what Cummings was holding over the PM to keep his job!
Last year Dr Rosena Allin-Khan told the PM in parliament about helping a family say goodbye to their kids by iPad as they lay dying from Covid. In response, the PM denied he had been at any parties. Today’s ‘apology’ proves he lied and as such broke the Ministerial code which requires resignation! So why wait for the ‘investigation’ when today’s answer proves the lie.
If my boss thought I deserved a reward for my hard work and invited me to a get together saying I should bring a bottle I’m not sure I would have been capable of a polite reply. If Boris wanted to reward people why not buy them each a bottle (out of his own money)?

I wonder if they claimed the booze money back as expenses Shep?
I bet that they bloody did!
Shelagh Fogarty has just said that a Tory MP has said that the party was a thank you do for Raab for deputising, and also a welcome back do for Johnson.

Rather a belated thankyou and welcome back, then. Johnson was back at work before the end of April.
And, IIRR, that's not what the email said. It was a reward for all the hard work the recipients had done...

My God , how the tories are wriggling...

That was Simon Hoare….
Simon Hoare just said on Sky News that it was a thank you party for Raab.
Covid deniers are now saying the government knew the virus wasn’t dangerous which is why they had such a cavalier attitude to it ( even though many MP’s and the scientific advisers caught it around that time). Also some back benches MP’s ( the ones arguing against restrictions now) are implying that the restrictions last year were too draconian and unnecessary.
A squib is/was a type of firework that exploded with a bang, or rather, not one bang but a series of them, jumping with each bang in a random direction. They are probably extinct by now, as they were dangerously likely to injure someone who thought they were standing far enough away to be safe. This statement by the PM admitting that, yes, there was a party may also leave a lot of injuries in its wake.
If CoVid wasn't dangerous, how come so many ICU nurses and doctors were needed to look after those who were unable to breathe?
Fanny Cornforth, I've just watched it again and KS made no mention of BJ hiding in a car. Nor did the other Party leaders. But no matter.
And yes, MaizieD, the Tories are wriggling like crazy. It's fun watching and listening to them invent yet more new excuses as to why it was really ok and not a breach at all.
Yes, Mamie, he is wearing the Old Etonian colours, lest we forget.
Elegran, in NI the firework you describe would be a 'Jumping Jack' A squib was just one bang. I remember them from the 1950s. Boys thought it was fun to light one and chuck it behind a bunch of girls, just to hear the squeals. Strange courting habits in those days.
Meanwhile, over at the Palace................

Precisely…
…and now Prince Andrew has ridden to the rescue. Headline news tomorrow I would imagine.
I feel so so sorry for The Queen. She must be so angry and sad about being on her own at her dear Phillip's funeral, whilst her Government were partying! And now Prince Andrew. I am not a Royalist, but I truly feel deeply sorry for her.
Same here.

Maizie I do keep thinking that something about drink and / or drugs will come out at some point
There are many rumours of this on SM. Funny how the two who nursed him have flown away and cannot be interviewed. Before you accuse me lemon, this is what happens when we have a liar as PM, one starts to doubt everything he says and does. Still it could be worse, imagine being the wife who was once the mistress.
I thought Chris Bryant was very good; calm and eloquent and straight to the point. It was very noticeable that Johnson was, for the first time in a long time, looking reasonably well groomed. His shirt was clean, collar where it should be, tie straight, hair not as bad as usual. Like someone turning up in court and hoping to give a good impression
That’s how I feel Gill
The MP for Stourbridge said how employment there was booming; and then Johnson came out with some figures; and I just thought, well, that could just be a load of codswallop.
He can just say any old load of toot.
Managed to throw in ‘vaccinations’ again….
It was codswallop. Our economy is not performing better than all other comparable countries. The opposite is true, but he is so used to getting away with lies he just can't help himself.
Boris said at PMQ " I should have sent them all inside".
This sounded to me as though he was blaming his staff for breaking the rules and he was just being the lenient headmaster type letting them have their fun.
I think blame will eventually shift to others.

So, just had a thought, when we were unable to meet with our families and friends, if we'd only known to form companies all together we could have had work events in our gardens that might have 'looked' like social gatherings but weren't.
But maybe we would have been more intelligent and not issued written invitations.
AGA ?It never fails to amaze me how intelligent people can be so stupid as many politicians and civil servants seem to be.

No, the opposite is not true. ( sigh)
