I think overall he has done @ good job in unprecedented circumstances. It’s all well with hindsight to say it should be this way or that, still prefer to follow the scientists, as much as I don’t agree with him on everything, including his affairs, I think he’s done a good job for this country. The one that really get on my nerves is Keir, he has not an original idea, like a dog with a bone he completely disregards Omicron to score a point over what may have happened last Christmas. An enquiry will sort that out, let Boris carry on with avoiding another nhs crisis due to this new variant. In place of Boris if he should resign, Dominic Raab, for one or Rishi Sunak.

Bizarrely the favourite to take over is Liz Truss. Have Tories never seen her interviewed or watched her speeches? I’d favour her as would give a good chance of getting the Tories out at the next election. Boris’ ‘blue collar army’ (TM Katie Hopkins) won’t vote for her and she isn’t going to appeal to many beyond one who would vote for a heap of dung wearing a blue rosette.

I agree with you Allsorts. The name I would add is Jeremy Hunt. I do like Rishi Sunak as well. I personally don’t think Boris is going anywhere at the moment. He delivered Brexit which gets a ? from me.

Andy Burnham (our Mayor here in Greater Manchester) isn’t an MP. He stood down in the GE in 2017.

Sir Ed Davey - an intelligent serious politician with proven experience as a most successful Energy Minister, who managed to enact good Liberal Democrat policies in the very difficult circumstances of having to work in coalition with the vested interests in the corrupt Conservative Party.

A good son, a good husband, a good father - a very decent man.

Totally disagree. Hindsight is nothing to do with it. I knew we should be locking down just from information about the Italy situation so how much more must Boris have known as a world leader ?

Sadly because too many people either want an entertaining clown as a PM, or want to vote for extreme left wing policies that would destroy our economy even more.

I have certainly 'warmed' for KS- a calm, intelligent, well-informed, well-educated, experienced man who puts the health of the nation and its people before his political ambitions.

Boring, many say- give me 'boring' any day, after what we have seen with Trump and Johnson. I would never say boring myself, but use the adjectives above.

Although not a Conservatuve myself, I would choose Rory Stewart (although he's no longer an MP, so it couldn't happen!). I thought he was a very decent chap with integrity in spades. PM if it were Labour - I'd be fine with Keir Starmer, seems an honest and very honourable man. But for charism alone, I also think Chuka Umunna would have made a great leader of the Labour Party- wonder what he is doing now he's no longer an MP?

Please, not Gove, I absolutely detest him from when he was in Education, his policies made my job a misery.

If we did elect Sir Keith - how would he get us through this Covid disaster? No one seems to know what to do for the best. Might as well stick with Boris.

It was only yesterday that I said to my husband that Gove had gone very quiet, and was he up to something?!! I think he's definitely plotting to swoop in as soon as there's a sniff that Johnson is on his way out.

Gove may be dislikable to some as a person but if he is competent and serious as a politician then that is what is needed in these unprecedented times.
